“I visited better places!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2014

Well the Aquarium of Genoa wasn't as Good as I expected. I'm pretty sure it's interesting with kids, but to see the dolphins in a middle sized pool wasn't nice. Even if the Aquarium is informing the guest that the dolphins have many pools to choose from I haven't seen any other pools. A wide variety of fishes and other animals is to see. If don't have a better plan it's nice to see it. The decoration and atmosphere was nice though.

“Genoa Aquarium”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2014

An excellent place to visit with children. It is well organized and has plenty of useful information on marine life. A really enjoyable outing for the family or even as a solo visit. I went there for the first time in 1999 when my daughter was small but I go there again every time I visit Genova. It is a bit expensive but I think it is well worth the effort.

“The magic of nature for kids”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2014

The acquarium is a magic place in particular for kids. Our children, 1 and 5 years old, love visiting it. If you visit Genoa you cannot miss it. Suggestions: buy the tickets on line to save money and time (frequently there are long lines), go there using public transportation to save money for parking (the metro stops in front), avoid crowded days ( we have been in february on sunday and it was great, we have been in august mid week and it was very crowded). Two more comments for the management: it is a shame to finish the english guides in a period so full of foreign tourists and to have the only toilette in the middle of the building out of order.

The least you pay is 24€, or with the Biosphere 32€, also including the nautical museum. The Aquarium is worth your money on a day without any other people. Since that will never happen, you'll have to put up with people that can't read (No flash, No touching the water) and no staff anywhere to maintain their own rules! You'd just hope there is a shark laying around somewhere.
Really too bad for words is that all people are 'forced' to have their picture taken at the entrance, are 'forced' to go through the giftshop, and twice as it may be!
For handicapped people it is a real hassle to get around the aquarium, but at least you can laugh your head off with all the people carrying trolleys up and down staircases.
So no, you can spend your money way better almost anywhere else in Genova
