“Really nice hotel”
Reviewed August 2, 2014

Well situated for transport links and sight seeing. Very friendly and comfortable hotel. Large and Well equipped rooms, including tea coffee facilities etc. nice bathroom. Staff very welcoming. Great breakfast and the breakfast waitress was very efficient and made you feel at home. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Room Tip: Lift can be a little noisy but it is quaint.

Very clean and big rooms and nice breakfast. Free internet and the internet is so fast. It's 5-10 mins away from port genoa. It's close to the boulevard and the main square of genoa. Very nice place to stay in. Mainly every thing u need is beside it.

Even though I was in Genoa for two nights, I only had one day to explore the city and this was an ideal base: central and extremely comfortable.

Within easy walking distance were the Strada Nuova (3 excellent museums for the price of one, including the amazing Palazzo Rosso), Museo Palazzo Reale, 2 beautiful cathedrals plus numerous churches and of course the harbour which sparkled in the sun.

The elegant executive room on the 5th floor was extremely quiet with city glimpses from the window and a capacious bathroom. The deal I'd chosen included a €15 daily credit which covered the excellent breakfast and incidentals.

When I originally booked, I almost opted for the more expensive hotel next door with which the Continental is linked but couldn't quite come to terms with the decor there. Not sure what I may have missed out on, but was well-satisfied with the choice that I made.

My fiance and I stayed for 1 night before heading to Cinque Terre the following morning from the train station. Upon check-in the receptionist noticed it was my birthday and sent us a bottle of champagne to celebrate. It was a great surprise and wonderful place to stay.

This hotel was fine - clean, comfortable, next to train station - but there is nothing to rave about. Good breakfast buffet with plenty choice but had to ask three times for espresso. Check in staff were polite but didn't offer any additional information although check-out lady noticed the date of birth on my husband's passport and wished him a happy birthday. Room was a little cramped for the three of us and we had to squeeze past the sofabed to get to the bathroom but it would have been okay for two. Didn't notice any noise and got a decent sleep. Hotel is 10 min walk from Acquario (highly recommended) and opposite train station for airport buses.

Great location - steps from the train station. The hotel is so nice, classy and clean. The front desk staff was so helpful, helped us plan what little time we had. I regretted that we didn't have more time.

We stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of July, at the start of a week's holiday in Liguria.
Firstly what an interesting place Genoa is to spend a couple of days, which is also where the Continental scores because of its great location, close to the Principe Rail Station, with its excellent bus connections throughout the city, and the airport.
Given all of the other recent positive reviews, I have little to add, except to agree with them -
this is an exceptional hotel.
We stayed in an excellent room (235), with great front facing views, experiencing little traffic noise, although we've experienced better bathrooms - the shower access to ours was very tight.
Another slightly discordant note is that whilst the breakfast in itself was very good, and served in a lovely room, the layout of the tables and the various food stations, meant inevitable congestion, and discomfort for those affected.
If you're dining out, and want a real "Italian Experince", try nearby Trattoria Pino's on Salita S. Paolo, which is an alley just down from the hotel and Station.
