Very centrally located (opposite train station the airport bus) hotel, with soundproofed rooms, aircon, a very comfortable bed, tv and minibar. The hotel decoration is stylish early 20th century (but not with original details: it is all fake, but everything is in good condition). There is free wifi in the hall/lobby and in your room you can connect via a cable. The restaurant serves a standard italian breakfast, with great coffees, and is open for dinner (and stayed an hour or so longer open when guests arrived late). I can recommend it.

Stayed for two nights, great hotel, right by the main railway station (Brignole), free Internet service available in the rooms and in the lobby. Nice room, bathroom, clean and a great location. Only thing that could be improved was the breakfast, otherwise very pleased.

This hotel has so much old world charm. The lobby/lounge area is very comfortable and attractive. We arrived early about 10 AM and rooms were not available but we left our bags by the desk and were told they would be taken to our room when it was ready (they gave us a room number). When we returned much later about 3PM, we were given the key and our bags were in the room. Yes it was a small room but so was the price. We had stayed once near Principe Station. a place with no charm for the same price. A nice breakfast was included.
The walking distance to the center as well as to the harbor does take some time but you see a lot of Genoa on the way. We took the funicular up the hill for the view this time and we were lucky with good weather to see all over the city.
This hotel is directly across from Brignole station and bus stop for outlying towns. We took one to Rapallo for 3 Euro and saw nice towns and scenery on the way along the coast. We would definitely stay here again.
.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back court are very quiet.

Nothing wrong with this hotel, just could do with some updating of the decor. Right price, and I found the staff very pleasant. I usually avoid hotel bars at all costs, but actually thoroughly enjoyed a pre-dinner drink here. Excellent location for Brignole station and easy walking access to the centre.

Room Tip: I guess avoid the first floor as this is where all the traffic to breakfast passes....

might be a little difficult to find if you are looking for a big neon sign. Just face the train station and you will see to your left a little sign that says "Verdi".
The rooms are small but cozy, if you get a room to the back, it will be quieter but you will be checking out the neighbour's laundry. The staff is courteous but not exactly overzealous. Don't count on Wi-Fi in the rooms as only a cable connection is available. Breakfast is good. Don't miss out on the little streets behind the hotel and especially the covered food market. It's worth getting up a little earlier. All in all, a good value!

This hotel couldn't have been in a better spot. You step outside the hotel to the central bus stops and a main train station Brignoli which receives trains from all over. The hotel staff were truly genuine and so accomodating they really went out of their way. they had some great recommendations for a pizzeria restaurant near by in a small piazza, the bar in small and intimate and the decor is classic, old style but cosy. The area is currently the safest at night in genoa so this is a great spot and we booked the day before so you couldnt get better than that!

I stayed in this hotel for around 3 days, and was my first day in Genoa. As it was a long stay for me in Genoa, more than a month, I was hoping for a good stay.

But when I entered, I was really surprised by seeing the room size; it was so small, which I had never imagined, being it in a 3 start hotel category.
Earlier I thought generally hotels in Genoa were having small rooms only, as it was amongst the expensive hotels in my range.

But later I surveyed more hotels, (mostly near Port Antico), which were having really big rooms as well as cheaper than Moderno Verdi; and finally shifted there in 3 days.

Also, was completely dissatisfied with the room service. The waiter did not understand English at all, and had to call at the reception everytime to get it translated to Italian.

Only advantage was location, which was good for this hotel.

I wont suggest to stay here at all.

Room Tip: All rooms are too too small.. You choose any, and you will be dissapointed.
