“Great location in the city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2014

Make sure you have a GPS to find this hotel and pay for the parking - even at 25 Euros its worth it for the location - just 100 yds from the main square in Genoa. Service here was excellent and the price at 100 Euros was great for a city hotel in Europe. Rooms are compact (aren't they all in Europe?) but you can walk out of the door and explore within minutes

My wife and I spent three nights at this hotel, we had booked a superior room but there was only limited storage space for clothes, fine if you are travelling alone and only staying for one night. The hotel prides itself on sound proofing, we did not hear any noise from within the hotel, however we had a room at the front of the hotel overlooking the little square, we were disturbed by revellers late at night and by lorries unloading very early in the morning. On our last night, after a day walking, we decided to dine in the hotel restaurant, only to be told that it does not open on a Sunday evening, we had not noticed any signs to this effect in the hotel; this was very inconvenient as many restaurants do not open on a Sunday and those which were open were very busy.

Having got my little moans out of the way, this hotel has a lot going for it. It is in an excellent location for exploring for exploring Genoa. The staff were very helpful and did try to find us a restaurant, when the hotel one was closed. The hotel is exceptionally clean and well maintained, there are coffee and snacks available during the day, as well as tea/coffee making facilities in the room for which fresh milk will be provided, if requested. For breakfast there were a good selection of fruit, cheeses and breads as well as sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs. Despite my earlier concerns, I will probably stay here on my next visit to Genoa.

Room Tip: My room at the front was very noisy both late at night and early in the morning.

Great service. The staff were very nice and helpful. The location was great, right in the city. Rooms are spacious and clean. Great views over the city rooftops. Breakfast buffet was excellent! Really nice night.

I'm really just echoing the great reviews this hotel has already received, we absolutely couldn't fault it during our three-night stay. Ideally situated for exploring the medieval quarter and just a short distance away from the old harbour.
The staff are excellent - everybody noted and remembered my birthday while we were there, even presenting me with an unexpected birthday cake!
Breakfast really is very good, plenty of choice and the freshest croissants I've eaten in a long time.
Clean, comfortable room with coffee/tea making facilities and a balcony.
There was a slight problem with the shutter leading onto our balcony, which the maid noted and had remedied the same day. Then reception called to ask if we wanted the room cleaned again, once the handyman had left.
The 'all day lounge' is a nice touch - free tea/coffee/snacks and use of iPads if you want a break from sightseeing but don't want to go back to your room.
Absolutely recommend this place for a stay in Genoa and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

The booking over the phone was great and very professional. We arrived early from a dreadful ferry trip we felt unclean and dog tired. The staff were amazing and managed to get us to our room in 20 minutes despite arriving at 9 am. The staff brought us breakfast in our room and we settled in feeling human again after such a nice welcome. The good service continued across the board room service was slick house keeping was very good along with the helpful and accommodating reception team. The suite comprised of large bedroom with adjoining living area and a good sized bathroom. The icing on the cake was a large terrace over looking the beautiful city of Genoa. The big wow factor at this hotel was the staff I can not put fault in any direction. Thank you for a lovely stay great team work.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 822 on the top floor

I've been a returning guest at this hotel for many years after a local friend recommended it to me years ago. It has everything a confortable hotel needs to have: It's clean and warm/cosy, one feels really good there, breakfast selection is 5 star and served by kind/ polite people in warmly decorated dining hall by the entrance of the hotel. Location is perfect ... including old narrow streets easily accessible in a short walking distance and you don't have to walk for long to find yourself in the beautiful harbor area. I just love the place!

Room Tip: Usually I stay from 4th floor/up ...but once or twice stayed on the second floor and it was ok too...

The room was spacious, everything was very clean and nice. They have a small parking garage, you need to reserve in advance. Service was absolutely great, breakfast selection was very good. The location is very central, easy walking everywhere. The staff was very helpful, gave us great suggestions for restaurants and helped with the driving directions.
