“Very nice hotel in the beautiful Genova!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2014

+
1)The location is on the middle of the city, which makes comfortable staying during one day or many days. Its just 4 metro stations to the Genova Piazza Principe train station and 1 or 2(I don't remember) to another one station. From metro station its just 3-5 minutes walking. 2) Room was comfortable for 3 people, shower was clean and everything was clean. 3) Breakfast was with a big choice of food in a comfortable dinning room. We stayed just one day, but it was a pleasant staying.

-
WIFI didn't work very good, we had to work. but it was a problem for us to do it there.

Room Tip: Triple room!

This has to be one of the best priced places in downtown Genoa. It is within twoor three blocks of the Ferrari Fountain, the Opera House, and the old Noble Street. One can walk to the funiculari, the ascensore, and the old part of town without breaking a sweat. No Handicapped entrance, however. ( It is Europe) It is noisy at night ( Still Europe) , but the rooms are sweet clean little gems, with elevator service; clean and modern equipment in rooms, including a safe for your valuables.
We had good service, useful to have good wireless access, and two sitting rooms at lobby were nice as well for a visiting guest to wait for us.

Room Tip: The photo on the add looked exactly like our room. We faced the street, and there may be quieter roo...

This hotel can´t be located better as it is close to the central square and thus has all main attraction reachable on foot, including Castelletto quartier from which you could admire Genoa from above. There is quite near also a stop of the airport bus and metro station.
Apart from this it offers a very high level of services like an abundant breakfast. What I have found very interesting is the offer of a snack for free during the day which you find on the bar near to the stairs. Don´t expect something great, there are common croissants or local pan - focaccia which probably remain from the breakfast. But instead of throwing it out or regenerating for another day (as many other hotels do) they offer it for free which is a good idea.
The staff is very nice, keen to help you.
What could be improved is the quality of the rooms which are traditional and some new furniture could be placed there. Also don´t expect a lot of privacy, the noise isolation isn´t very strong.

Room Tip: Your choice is between windows to the main street/square or to a typical narrow old street. It depen...

The Metropoli hotel is very conveniently located, close to Genoa's best attractions in the historical centre, Piazza De Ferrari, the opera theatre, the magnificent palaces in via Garibaldi, the aquarium, etc. Rooms are nothing special and not particularly large, but they are comfortable and clean, with the most needed facilities, free wifi included (through a password that can be obtained at the reception and must be updated after 24 hours). Bathroom is rather basic and small, but very clean. The reception staff is very courteous and helpful. Breakfast is ok to good; waiters are kind. Connections to stations or airport are made easy by the close proximity of taxis (they stop opposite the hotel). It tends to be a little pricey, but its location justifies the rates.
If you don't expect a luxury experience and want to stay in the very heart of the city, I'd recommend it.

Room Tip: Most rooms overlook a busy street (Piazza Fontane Marose). If you don't want to be disturbed by...

I stayed here with my family while visiting Italy. We booked three rooms. All were comfortable but a bit snug. The breakfast in the morning was very good and had many options. The waitstaff was very attentive to the hotel guests. There are plenty of places to walk to and many tour options nearby.

Located in the heart of Genoa and walking distance
from Brignole Station.

Our stay was in a Quad room for 3 nights and
found it to be very good value for money.

Staff were really friendly and helpful.

Room was of a decent standard and breakfast
was included in the price.

Would not hesitate to stay here again !

I stayed here twice within a few weeks and would certainly check prices and availability if I were to return to Genova. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful.

The breakfast had a good choice.

My room was in the first floor overlooking the square, light and airy, warm and comfortable. Despite overlooking the square, I did not find it noisy.

The location was excellent. Near enough to walk just about everywhere, with buses nearby if I was going or returning from further afield. There was a good selection of places to eat nearby.
