Ignore the comments about the breakfast it's fine the hotel is across the road from the station and all the major bus stops and is ideal for getting around, the reception staff have always been helpful and made reservations for our evening meal every night and we haven't had a bad table.. our room has been extremely clean and well presented all and all a good hotel . About 20mins walk from the old town but the no13 bus goes from across the road outside the hotel straight to porta antico and stops outside coming back

Eataly restaurant serves hotel residents. In New York Eataly is well known for fine food. It is not so in this hotel. Consider reservation without breakfast. Room does not have kettle, no iron board. Room furniture not much convenient. Air conditioner runs without noise but may turn off on its own and you can't rely on its dial. Hotel is close to railroad station which is big advantage for visiting towns nearby, Cinque Terre and coming to/from Rome. We did not experience any noise from trains. WiFi is stable however you need to re-login every 24 hours.
If you live in USA and make reservation online directly in hotel, pay attention to how they charge your credit card.

A good hotel for short stay at an amazing location in Genoa.... only thing which I feels was the color selection in the hotel... the ambience looks dark with less vibrant...and the room I stayed was less spacious (deluxe room)... this would be a unforgettable hotel as I left one of my favorite pants in the wardrobe due to rushing in checking out the hotel. Only realized once arrived Serravelle shopping outlet 😭

Large modern hotel across the road from brignole station , where trains go to portofino, cinque terre, etc , you have to cross roads coming from 4 directions ,
The rooms are large enough with mopped wallpaper,the type that was popular in the nineties ,I don't think it's been Decorated since because nobody would decorated it that way , the wallpaper was peeling off the edges ,it was modern but a bit dull. Bath was narrow but good shower ,Internet you had to log in daily sometimes not easy.the bed was rock hard .
The breakfast does not deserve a 1 star rating , they made it as cheap as possible ,coffee from a machine real dish water, eggs did not taste of anyrhing, fruit juice all sugar , only the apples were fresh, no toast ,sliced cheese of Parma ham , not even those nice little Italian sausages, if it's not included in your rate save your 13 euros.
So on the day of the Eurovision Song Contest I give this hotel trois point .

The President is a well maintained large hotel located very close to the Metro/bus/rail links of Genoa (you can pick up a 24 hour travel card that covers you for the bus/Metro for only 6 Euros - not bad value!). It is situated in the more modern district of Geno, which is actually very nice, but it is also within close walking distance of the old town of Genoa - 10 to 15 minutes maximum.
The breakfast was quite comprehensive and it included a reasonable amount of hot food. The public areas were welcoming and spacious. The President offers really good all-round value.........what more can I say?

Room tip: The higher you go the better the view...
