Food is very good. The wine cellar is amazing. Small restaurant where you will need reservations. The host and owner is there nightly. Both my wife and I are repeat guests not being Italians.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend, and I was not disappointed. It is more of a locals' place, so expect a casual pace (I wondered why it took 15 minutes to get the menus - it turned out that we had arrived so early that they had yet to hand-write out the specials). the owner greeted us, and confessed that his English wasn't good - so we made do in Spanish. The waitress, however (perhaps his wife?), spoke excellent English. They were very welcoming, and took the time to explain everything (even bringing out a plate showing the different seafood they were serving that night). Their wine recommendations were excellent. They were also willing to give me two half-portions of pasta, without an extra charge. The fish was very fresh and perfectly cooked. Overall, highly recommended.

If you are in Genoa, be sure to pay a visit to this gem. Don't be put off by the absence of a menu outside, nor by the door being closed. Ring the doorbell and you will be let inside ..... a complimentary appetizer will arrive with your menus - ask for the English translation if your Italian isn't great, otherwise you may not spot some of the best dishes mentioned by other reviewers, or ask the hostess to help you. Oustanding primo platti, fish, wine and hospitality. One visit just won't be enough .....
