“We had a great stay”
Reviewed January 6, 2012

We stayed at Teresa's place because it was cheap and looked clean from the photos. We had a great time, and the location can't be beat. The room was clean, and the bathrooom was updated and had the best shower and water pressure of our whole trip (7 different hotels in Europe). The room had lots of room to move around, lots of space to hang up clothes, a quiet little balcony with no view but perfect for eating breakfast, and lots of stairs. Teresa brings you homemade pastry-like cookies and coffee every morning, and delivers it right to your room with a smile. It helps if you speak Italian (although even this can be difficult with the dialect), because she speaks no English. We would definitely stay here again.

Tip: Use the back door to enter the building rather than the front door; it seems to cut down on stairs somehow. Also, there is a water fountain at the mid-point on the main drag.

My husband and I stayed at Rosson Teresa B&B for one night in October 2011 and had a very good experience. We arrived early afternoon in Vernazza after a long train ride from Milan. The B&B (which is actually just one room Teresa rents out) was very easy to find due to the excellent directions emailed to us before our visit. Teresa took us up to our room, which yes, is up a number of stairs--thankfully we had our Rick Steves carry-on convertible bags, so we slung them on our backs and headed up. Teresa was so lovely--she speaks very, very little English but greeted us with a hug and a kiss. We were able to communicate everything that was necessary. The room is small but adequate; same with the bathroom (both of us are small people, so small isn't too much of an issue for us--I can see, though, how someone tall could have a problem hitting their head). Breakfast was delicious homemade cookies filled with hazelnut spread--I would like to have one right now!--and excellent coffee with warm milk. No view of the water from room but great view of the church on the harbor and the hillside. Woke up early by the nearby church bells, but was a pleasant way to awaken. We had to be out of the room several hours before we planned to leave Vernazza, but Teresa was more than willing to hold our bags for us in her home. Overall really enjoyed our stay at Rosson Teresa B&B! Unsure what the future holds for Teresa--emailed her after the horrible flooding and mudslides in Vernazza and Monterosso--she had to leave Vernazza and does not know when/if she will be able to return.

Room Tip: Only one room available! May not be best choice for someone very tall.

Nice, clean, safe room. It was great for my wife and me but may not be for everyone. There are several flights of stairs and the ceiling in part of the room and bathroom is low but we found it to be no major problem. The small balcony is nice but has no view and is difficult to get out to. Teresa is a great host and brings a continental breakfast at the guest specified time. The location can not be beat as it is right at the harbor near coffee shops, restaurants, and shops. It is easy walking distance from the train station. I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Specify your arrival time since Teresa is not always there.

We loved our stay with Teresa. Despite not speaking Italian, and she not speaking English we sorted everything very easily. She was a lovely host and brought our breakfast up to us every morning.

The room was comfortable and very clean - we couldn't have asked for better

my husband and i stayed here during our first anniversary trip to italy. we absolutely loved staying here. the location was perfect, the little deck was in a cute a little ally, the hostess was sweet and spoke zero english. you couldn't really see the water from the apartment, but it was right by the water. you have to duck to get out to the balcony, and the shower is not for tall people. but it was so quaint, and i would definitely return here if we visited again. there are a lot of stairs, but that didn't bother us. great value.

We arrived in the afternoon. The room is up five flights of steps, so Teresa grabbed the back of my bag to help me get it up the stairs. She handed us the keys, showed us how they worked, and let us settle in. There is a small frig in the room. The door to the terrace is about the size of a large basement egress window--no trouble for us, but could be difficult for folks with bad knees. Yes, the bathroom is tiny, but it works. I particularly appreciated the small laundry tub provided and the clothesline off the terrace. The location can't be beat. She was so sweet--wanted to know what time I wanted coffee in the morning (intravenously, please!), and she had it there. We wanted know where we could buy bread for a picnic, but she must have thought we wanted her to bake, because the next day she had made a delicious breakfast cake. People who stay here should research before they go so they know what they want to see and know how to use the train system, and it wouldn't hurt to learn a little Italian. We loved the Cinque Terre and Teresa and her B&B.

Room Tip: Reserve early, especially for summer. We reserved in January for July.

The small room and bathroom (with hairdryer!) at this B&B were scrupulously clean, and the linens were elegant. Although it posed very little problem for us, the slope of the ceiling would likely be challenging for tall individuals. An in-room heater and refrigerator were very nice additions, as were the two wine glasses and corkscrew that were provided. We were unable to take advantage of the little balcony and clothesline outside the room due to inclement weather during our visit, but both would have otherwise been appreciated. A small breakfast of cookie pastries and tea or coffee was served each morning at whatever time we requested, which was a very pleasant way to begin each day. We had no trouble communicating with this delightful B&B host despite the language barrier and enjoyed our stay at her facility. Be advised that it's about 90 steps up to your room, so start your physical conditioning now!
