“One night in Vernazza”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

My family and I spent one night at Vernazza Rooms to enjoy a couple of days at the Mediterranean Sea and we feel that we made the right choice by staying there! The room was very large, clean, clean linens, and they added an extra bed for my third child so we all stayed in the same room. The property owners were very prompt and courteous for meeting us at the train station to guide us to the room. The only deception is the listing of Vernazza Rooms under B&B, therefore allowing us to believe we had breakfast included. But nevertheless, the location is very central and easy to get to restaurants. I highly recommend! -- McQuains

What a beautiful experience and service by David & co. Room #2 was phenomenal. Sitting on balcony having wine while the Blue Marlin played line music. Would definitely recommend Vernazza Rooms to friends & family.

Barbara, the owner, met us at the station to show us to our rooms. We could leave bags before our check in, and leave them again after our check out (v important in a short stay so you don't waste beach/swimming time to lug cases around!).
Room was very clean and we could have an extra bed put into a four bed room, which we'd struggled to find anywhere else. Bathroom small but very clean. Bright terrace for drying towels and clothes.
Only minor negative is that the air conditioning was a little noisy, but then we had it on very high as a treat (no air con where we're living at the moment!)
It really seems nothing was missed in our lovely room- we had tv, a hairdryer, fridge, toastie maker, kettle and smoothie maker. We were only there one night and so really didn't make full use of a very, very good hotel. I would absolutely stay again, and for much longer.

My partner and I were the guests of Daria, David, and Barbara during our recent trip to Cinque Terra. Vernazza and Vernazza Rooms were one of our favorite spots during our entire 3 week trip throughout Italy. Our room, #5, was small but very clean with an accompanying clean private bathroom. The best, though, was our terrace, which overlooked the rooftops and gave us a view of the Ligurian Sea. We found the people of Vernazza very friendly and accommodating in spite of all the reconstruction going on after last year's devasting floods. We were very happy to think that our tourist dollars were helping this small and historic community rebuild.

The location of our hotel was great--close to the train station and a short walk through town to the sea and numerous, wonderful restaurants. We also hiked to Montorossa, which affords great scenic views. It's also easy to take the train to the other towns (as some of the hiking trails were still partially closed due to the floods). All in all, we would return to this area again.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms 4 or 5 as they each have a small balcony that overlooks the town.

We have been living in Sitges for the 6 months and this was our first stop on our month journey through Europe. Barbara was there to meet us and was very helpful. We stayed S Francesco 7 and it was nice and big. We are a family of 4, traveling with 9 year old twins, and our 2 kilo dog, so it was nice to have the extra room. The kitchenette was perfect, just wish there was a bigger market in town. My family was thrilled eating pizza everyday. The town of Vernazza is beautiful and the people make it even more enjoyable. I'll definitely go back and visit!

We stayed in apartment 21 in Vernazza and I must say it was nothing like the web photo, which is now no longer on the site.(wonder why) We were very disappointed.
The town is still under re construction and we should have been given the option to book elsewhere. I think they will be rebuilding for another 12-18 months. I feel we were mis represented with what we were given and value for money is not there.
I know they had a flood there, but paying top rate to live in a construction site is not on. Machines were starting up right under our window at 6am.
I would book in Monterosso IF we ever go back there

Room Tip: The town does not look like the web photos book a hotel rather than an apartment.

We stayed here 3 nights during a 3 weeks trip to Europe in rooms Roma 1 and Roma 4. Roma 1 was at the top floor and had AC. Roma 4 was first floor and no AC but had a small ceiling fan. Roma 4 has an outdoor shower on the terrace if you are so inclined! The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was some sort of fire on a track somewhere which totally messed up our arrival time and since i had no wi-fi in the train station I had no way to communicate this by email. We finally arrived and another hotelier (or room owner i suppose) helped us find someone who knew where the rooms were located. He spoke no English but led us up to the entrance and then went into his own home and called the owner. Even though we were momentarily confused about what was happening it was so nice to see that the whole town sort of just helps out where needed. I thought it was a good example of the spirit of the place. As they are rebuilding/digging out from the recent mudslides you could sort of sense a solidarity among the people there. That played a big part in making this my favorite stop on our trip.

Our rooms faced the main street and since Roma 1 offered only a fan (the nights were cool so this was fine for us) we were awakened a few times by a train in the night and the current rebuilding construction starts early at around 6am! We didn't mind though and managed to sleep regardless.

I would absolutely stay here again and can't wait to return to the Cinque Terre!
