We ate here on our first night in Vernazza - the service was mostly impeccable (except towards the end of the night when it got busy, we were a bit forgotten and had to call the waiter for attention several times, but once requested he returned with our requests promptly!).
Cheap and very easy to drink house red. Their trofie al pesto was some of the best pasta we've had in Italy - perfectly cooked al dente, and the pesto (specialty of the region) was soo fresh, like they picked the basil 5 minutes earlier. The potatoes tasted like they came straight out of the ground that day, delicious.
Anchovies were delicious and so fresh and tasty, genuine Italian meal and high quality. Complimentary bread was fresh and tasty. The buccellato con passito was brilliant - a simple yet very tasty lemon scented cake with sweet dessert wine. So fresh as if Nonna made it for you that afternoon. Highly recommend! We returned for dinner a second night! Service wasn't as great (depends on your waiter), but food still amazing :)
