Perfect location in the centre of Vernazza, with spectacular views. The owner Enzo warmly welcomed us into his very comfortable and clean home and even prepared us breakfast on the terrace at our chosen time each morning. He only has one reservation at a time so you do not have to deal with other travelers. Free WiFi. A great find!

Yes there are stairs - but you are in a very old country. Free wifi. Cozy bed. Complimentary breakfast of your choice and even the occasional drink. Clean. The perfect italian experience.

I would choose to stay elsewhere should we return to Cinque Terre. As another reviewer stated the views shown on the website are from the owners apt - not from your room. The street noise below was like having a party in our room and our breakfast was available at a local restaurant (unless we wanted to wait until 10 when he had his breakfast). I have to admit that this is my only time to visit this area and it could be that these are good accommodations compared to others in the area, but was very expensive for a basic room. Was not worth carrying our bags up 50 stairs and glad we only stayed 2 nights.

We loved Cinque Terre and Vernazza. Here are our pros for staying at Tre Terrazzi: Enzo was very friendly, the apartment is centrally located and there are great views from both balconies and the rooftop. Nice kitchen for cooking a meal and the balcony was great for our evening meals. Cons for staying at Tre Terrazzi: The bathroom was very small, with no storage and no rug... we had to ask for an extra towel to put on the floor. There was no soap or shampoo provided. The shower is smaller than those found on cruise ships. The bedroom that we were in had no place to hang any of our clothing. At this time of year at least, be prepared for flies and mosquitos . No internet access provided (though there is an internet cafe below the apartment and at the Blue Marlin Cafe). The great breakfast that we thought would be provided by Enzo (after reading previous reviews), turned out to be a simple egg, bacon and toast breakfast provided by the Blue Marin Cafe. Also, be prepared that Enzo and his son actually live in the apartment with you. We were traveling with friends and thought we would have more free access to the entire apartment. If you have laundry to do, Enzo insists on doing it for you rather than giving you access to his washing machine. In summary, though uncomfortable at first, we enjoyed Enzo's company and we enjoyed our stay in Vernazza. There are probably other places that would be a better value.

Based on the photos in the owners ad, this property appears to have magnificent sea views. It does. Unfortunately they are all from the owners quarters, up-stairs.
The 2 rooms that the he rents are 4 bare walls with a bath down the hall. No AC. No TV. The bath room is no bigger than the one on the plane that you flew over on and includes a sink toilet and shower. The shower is not large enough to bend over in and wash your feet. (no exaggerations) I asked for soap and the owner said he had never before had that request. Two days later he showed up with a bar of soap after I had gone out and gotten my own.
The approx. 80 stairs, going up to the room, are very narrow, only about 8 inches deep and exceptionally steep. Banister laying on the floor. This wouldn't meet code in any civilized country on the planet.
Breakfast is in a shop, down the street, where you are limited to 1 cup of coffee and 1 breakfast pastry, which would be o.k. if you were forewarned.
120 euro per night would be a stretch.

We had a brilliant time staying with Enzo and his family. We were there for 4 nights and as other people have mentioned, you end up spending a fair amount of time with Enzo and his partner and as a result we left Vernazza feeling like we had a true taste of Italian life.

The room isn't very private and was a little on the expensive side but we still have no regrets whatsoever about staying here. Enzo was incredibly accommodating and a fantastic cook. His breakfast each morning was great - the omlette especially - and one rainy day Enzo asked us what our favourite Italian dish was and made it for us for lunch (delicious mussels and spaghetti). Sitting down over a meal with Enzo and his partner was a pleasure and we learned a lot about Italian life through conversation.

Vernazza is our favourite of the Cinque Terre villiages and very touristy but well and truly worth the visit. We enjoyed doing the more "off the beaten track" walking trails rather than walking along the coastline for which the region is famous. Initially we were disappointed that these trails were closed due to bad weather and landslides but the walks we did in the end were really enjoyable and a bit more challenging than the others.

P.S. Be prepared to walk up a couple of steep flights of stairs to get to the accommodation. If you're like us you'll be grateful for the stairs as you'll be able to burn off some of the calories from all the memorable Cinque Terre seafood you'll be eating.
