I booked this hotel for my trip to Vernazza mostly because of the wonderful reviews it had on TripAdvisor and certainly this place did not disappoint! It was a little difficult to find the hotel, but fortunately, by just asking around we were pointed to the right direction. Although the hotel is not in the heart of the village, it is really just a two minute walk to the village center. The hotel is extremely close to the train station, which was a huge benefit considering the steep cobble streets of Vernazza made it difficult to drag luggage around. The rooms were very clean, bright, and charming. The stream that ran right outside our room was so nice and tranquil. The only minor issues I had were the towels being paper thin and there was no real room service, so getting more shampoo or soaps were difficult. Overall, I recommend this place and would definitely stay here again in my next trip to Vernazza!

Room Tip: bring your own towel if you want a nice fluffy one to use

My wife and I had a delightful 3-night stay in Annamaria's four room hotel in October, 2011. We had a double with bath for 80 Euros/ night. A good, convenient breakfast spot was Il Pirata, which is across the street and about 20 yards up the hill. The Post Office and a reliable ATM are even closer. A good dinner spot is Trattoria da Sandro, which is on the main drag not far from the train station. We also had good dinners at Il Pirata and Ristorante da Piva. The 45 minute round trip commuter bus trip up in the hills (5 per day) is a good deal. It is free with the Cinque Terra card and you can catch it, as well as check the schedule, across from the Il Pirata cafe. Another thing we enjoyed is the full day round trip boat trip that hits 4 of the towns (it doesn't stop at Corniglia). You can hop off at any given town, explore it and then catch the net boat. We thought the vineyard walk in Manarola was spectacular.

Room Tip: We had Room #1, which has its own private balcony.

This B&B is a short distance from the train station and has very FEW steps!! Annamaria, her daughter, and her mother made our four night stay very enjoyable. We stayed in the apartment which was well appointed and roomy! A few of our nights the apartment was warm due to the warm, rainy weather and no ceiling fan. We would highly recommend staying here. No breakfast is served but Il Prata is a few steps away with great pastries, coffee, coffee drinks, and delightful banter from the owners. Vernazza is a delightful town!!

Now I know what Rick Steves means by 'well appointed'. Anna Maria's rooms include a number of nice comforts, like a boiling pot, tea with sugar, a small fridge, glasses, a fan (priceless when there is no A/C) and an air drying clothes rack, ect. I felt right at home with the feather comforter on the bed - no nasty, scratchy hotel room blankets here. The building is located up hill from the train station, whereas most rooms in Vernazza are below the train station. I liked that the location was a bit quieter and away from most of the action. The breeze coming through the windows from the creek outside the building was great. The noise of the geese cackling at night was not, though. And if you are not yet used to it, you may find the hallway/door noise inside the building bothersome but in my experience you get this everywhere in Italy. Anna and her daughter clean the rooms each morning (sometimes the noise starts early) and collect rates in cash, in person. It's a pleasure to patronize this personalized, family-run place. Do yourself a favor and secure a room as far in advance as possible. I showed up in town and was lucky enough to stay here for one night before I had to find another room because she was booked. This is a very popular place, as it should be.

We arrived by taxi from Monterosso (due to the train strike at the beginning of September) to find our B&B was 50m away and downhill! We were a party of four and had rooms 1 and 4. Room 1 had a lovely little balcony where we had our aperitivi every evening and people watched before descending down the hill into the piazza for dinner (5 minutes away). The rooms were very clean, simply but quite adequately furnished and the bathrooms were larger than normal. Room #1 was the larger of the two. Although it was very hot during our stay (+/- 33 degrees), not once did we feel the need for an air conditioner nor were we bothered by many mosquitoes. The sound of the brook running alongside the building was very soothing and, as we were towards the beginning of the village, very peaceful compared to the lower part (yes it was very busy during the day). The train station is down from the rooms, about 2 minutes away. The restaurant 'Il Pirata" was almost opposite and made a wonderful breakfast stop every morning. Try their pastries and panini for breakfast. We also had dinner there one night and enjoyed it. Other good restaurants were Gianni Franzi and Gambero Rosso. All in all a lovely and ideal place to stay. I highly recommend it. Thank you Annamaria for everything.

We traveled to Italy with two other couples in September and spent four nights in Vernazza. Camere Fontana Vecchia proved to be a great location for our little group. We were met by AnnaMaria's daughter at the train station, and she walked us up the hill to our charming accommodations. Many of the rooms in Vernazza require a lot of steps, and we appreciated the easy access with our luggage. AnnaMaria came by to meet us later, and we also met her mother. The family was very warm and friendly.

Rooms are simple (as are most rooms in Vernazza - it's part of the charm) but very clean. Beds are comfortable and there is a small refrigerator in each room. Our room had a small but private bathroom. There is a little patio on the front of the property overlooking the stream, and we enjoyed a glass of wine in the early evening out here. The ducks below add to the charm, as did the little bridge to get to this property.

There is no breakfast included but the ll Pirata restaurant was right up the street, where we were greeted each morning with our "Americano" coffee and delicious pastries.

We felt this property was a good value for Vernazza.

We recommend this place to anyone visiting the Cinque Terre.

This location was excellent for Vernazza as well as traveling by train or boat to the other Cinque Terra towns. Our room was clean, well maintained and Anna Maria was very helpful and nice. We would stay here again and highly recommend it for others.
