Of all the B&Bs we stayed in during our 16-day Italy trip, I would rate La Marina @ Vernazza the best. I agree it is partly because of the town itself - it is such a beautiful, quaint little place that you can't help falling in love with it.
We had booked one double room facing the village & one single room facing the ocean. Both rooms were very clean, good-sized, and the shower was excellent.
When we reached Vernazza, I called Christian & he came to pick us up at the station. The rooms were up a steep flight of stairs & he helped me carry my bag upstairs (advantages of being the only lady in the group ;)). In the room he had ready a map of the trail and a copy of the boat & train schedules in Cinque Terre. He chatted with us discussing the best way to hike between the towns. He even left us a bottle of wine on our first day!
The only warning is that there is a ton of steps to get to your room & it can be difficult esp with luggage so be aware before you book.
We loved our stay here & would definitely come back again!More
