We stayed one night at the hotel. On arrival Enrico was extremely helpful and friendly and gave us a map of Riomaggiore and helpful information about catching the train between villages. It is a steep walk up from the train station but having parking is a bonus. The rooms are simple but very comfortable and everything worked well. Breakfast was very good. Would recommend to others.

We spent three nights in this cosy small hotel hosted by the friendly hotelkeeper Enrico. The room was nice with a balcony. The hotel is located on the main street climbing from the sea towards the main road up in the hill. Breakfast was of good quality. We took a local bus in front of the hotel to the village upper in the hill were we started a treck through the vineyards to the neighboring seaside village.

Before the visit, the owner was already very helpful in providing directions in guiding us to the hotel. It can be reached by either bus or on foot but nonetheless the three of us decided to walk and were each pushing a 25kg luggage up the hill from the train station...which must look like idiots to whoever saw us that day. It was a difficult climb but its location does have its merits because it has a lovely surrounding. We have stayed for two nights, each morning was served with an excellent breakfast with a very nice cup of coffee prepared by the owner.

Currently most of the costal walking paths were closed but you can still choose to hike, which makes the whole thing a bit confusing, but the owner's detailed explanation has helped a lot in our trip planning. We had a great time in Cinque Terre, and I think a large part of it was contributed by our lovely stay here. Thanks!

We knew we had a climb ahead of us when we got off the train in Riomaggiore, and it sure was! Locanda del Sole is almost at the top, far edge of town. Great view from up there, and you see everything that's going on in town as you go to and fro. As long as you're ready for it, and prepared to stop alang the way to catch your breath if you need to, it's a good place to stay. Enrico gave us lots of good information, and helped us take our bags up yet more steps to reach our room! The room was spacious and clean, with a terrace out front so we could sit and relax outside. It's a newer build and does seem a bit spare, but everything worked and we really only slept there anyway, there's so much to do in the area. Breakfast was great, with meat, fruit and cheeses as well as the traditional Italian rolls. North American coffee readily available, as well as tea.

Location is spot on. Close enough for the restaurants, station/port and trails yet just up the hill enough to deter the majority of tourists. Very welcoming and a lovely place to stay.
Be warned that a lot of the local restaurants don't work on Mediterranean time - the first night we turned up for food at closing time, most seem to eat at 7ish rather than 10 as we were used to after Southern Italy.

We stayed here for five nights in September. We were driving so found the car parking invaluable. Our room was on the top floor which was a few more stairs, but we enjoyed our view and many glasses of good CT white on the private terrace. Enrico is an excellent host, helpful in every way and full of local tips. He and his wife provide a lovely breakfast, a good start before hitting those trails. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and quiet. Yes, the hill is steep, but it didn't seem bad knowing your shower awaits at the top. We enjoyed everything about staying here and would come again.

I stayed here some time ago with my girlfriend. For the price, it is a nice little spot. Comfortable beds, air conditioned, and the room we stayed in had a large shared balcony, with glimpses of the sea. We had a nice evening one night with a German couple enjoying some wine.

The rooms are simple. But the get the job done. Quiet, cool, clean, and comfortable.

Note - This hotel is up the hill, so expect a bit of a hike. It wasn't difficult for myself, being athletic. But there were quite a few "heavy" American's curing the hill as we walked past them on the way up.
