We arrived in Riomaggiore and had to figure out where to get bus tickets and where to meet the bus. Unless you have a car your only way there is the 5 terre bus. We found a couple who were staying at the same place who helped us. The bus ride up had amazing views so it was worth not staying in town. When we arrived the lady was very helpful during check in. She gave us everything we needed. She showed us where our room was from the top. Our room was all the way at the bottom of the 200 steps. We had a little trouble finding our room but once we did and got settled in the view was so amazing! When we got to our room the power was off so we had to call up to figure out what was going on. There had been a bad storm so we weren't sure if it had knocked out the power but they were very helpful in telling us where the breaker was. We had the small studio apartment which included a small stove, fridge, and sink. The pillows were hard as a rock but we found another softer pillow in the cabinet. The shower was Very tiny and we got a lot of water on the floor. The room was very nice overall though. The staff was very nice and helpful. They offer luggage lift if you need it when checking out but you must tell them the day prior and if you miss the bus they will take you down to the town. We enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely stay again when we come back!

This is a very unique property with an excellent location. Yes, there are 200 steps but that is what makes it so interesting. Long ago it was small apartments. We had a suite where the kitchen and living room were separated by a little patio/balcony to the bedroom. It was charming. You could just feel the history. Our suite was old but very clean and well maintained.

The food in the restaurant was very good and the staff friendly. Enjoy a glass of wine and an amazing sunset.

Would go here again for sure.

We agree wholeheartedly with the review of Liliana93. The positive things that save this place is the dining in the restaurant with its magnificent view. The food was very good, the waiter was friendly and charming, and he did his best to make the dinners we had very enjoyable.
This could be a fantastic place if the points made by Liliana93 were corrected / improved and service attitude changed to make visitors feel more welcome......

this property has an excellent location....can't deny that ..but lots of problems with the property:
they send us off down these 200 steps after travelling all day...bad directions to the apartment...
took us 45 minutes to find it and it was almost night time.
it was very dirty...we did not take our socks off....laundry was a separate charge....WI-FI a separate charge..very limited and slow. Breakfast was EU 7.00 for some slices of melon on a paper plate, one cup of hot drink, a piece of cheese prepackaged in paper....one slice of bread
and a piece of cake....we had American breakfast downtown egg, bacon, potatoes and bread...for 8.00 and coffee as well as many cups as we wanted. . Receptionist rolled her eyes if we asked a question....shuttle comes sparingly and only takes 17 people . None of this is advertised....so you are really limited to too many things...and its pricey!
did not change towels or bedding or even clean

What a lovely place! 27 small but comfortable apartments, most with balconies, 270m above the sea. Magnificent views and sunsets. And a good way to keep fit with 151 steps back up to reception and the dining terrace (but who's counting?). There is a vehicle on a track to take the heavy luggage down and up. Located at the start of Cinque Terre with a shuttle bus to the first of five villages, Riomaggiore, just 4 km away. From there you can walk the cliffs, take a train or catch a ferry to another village. But make sure you visit spectacular Vernazza. We ate at the restaurant on the terrace each night. Lovely food. Breakfast was a little light on selection, but adequate. It was hot but there is aircon although it struggled with heat.

Room Tip: Best apartments are higher up with balconies although lower apartments have their own little garden...

Be away from the crowd and enjoy the nice view from this great location. each room offers an outdoor space and there is some space for barbeque and games for the children. the place is a little away from the cinque terre but there are convenient buses.

Great view, probably 10 minutes drive from the centre. Staff are great, rooms are awesome and clean, with aircon. Lots of stairs and a restaurant with delicious food! The buffet breakfast was quiet alright, not a whole heap to choose from but really fresh. Good value for money
