“Good, clean & tidy 2 Bed Apt in Riomaggiore”

Really enjoyed this apartment. It was towards the top of the main street in Riomaggiore but we got used the walk up and down the pedestrian-only path every day from the pebble beach (good for swimming on a warm day) at the very bottom & to the short tunnel across to the train station (also near the bottom), all the way up to the building the apartment is located in between 5-10 mins walk up.
The two bedrooms had a bed (double/queen? can't remember) in each, so it suited the two couples travelling. The single bathroom was quite nice, with great hot water but not a very big shower. The living/dining space was also a good size with some kitchen facilities (fridge, oven, microwave, gas cooktop, dishwasher, sink squeezed in). But the two things I did miss was a TV (we entertained ourselves at night with computers and the wifi) and a kettle (had to boil water in a saucepan for tea).

Paid 150 euro/night for 5 nights for mid-late September, booked well in advance. Seemed much cheaper to me than Monterosso for an equivalent 2 bed apartment. But, since the main walking tracks from Riomaggiore to Maranola, and Maranola to Corniglia were closed, we had to catch trains most days to get to the 5 towns. Mind you, the 3hr walk from Levanto to Monterosso was also good (and fewer people).

In all, a good affordable apartment with a friendly welcome upon arrival.

“Perfectly located, space to relax”

The best part about Ca Da Derna is it's location. Though a little further from the base of the Riomaggiore main strip (only 5-10 minutes walk), it is close enough to shops yet far enough away that things are quite at night. The apartment has everything you need for independent living: fridge, stovetop, oven, utensils, crockery and cutlery, even a dishwasher! We enjoyed the extra space in the lounge. The owners Sergio and Maria made sure we had everything and Sergio have us a wealth of advice about walking around and travelling the Cinque Terre, including some great tips about where to eat good seafood in Riomaggiore. We had a ball and would love to stay again!

“Ideal apartment in Riomaggiore”

This was an excellent apartment in a good location. It's a bit of a hike from the station, but not
particularly strenuous. It would have been good to have some tea & coffee supplies to start us off and if we'd known how expensive the tiny supermarkets in the village are we would have taken some supplies with us. Apart from that, the apartment was comfortable and roomy and we preferred Riomaggiore to the other little villages we visited in the Cinque Terre.

Liked best: Location
Liked least: Blackout due to a storm & we didn't know how to turn the electricity back on. It was the morning we were leaving so we put up with it.

This is a beautiful two bed apartment with a large living area comprising a fully equipped kitchen and one bathroom. The bedrooms are large and the living area has an extra fold out double bed.
The apartment is located at the top of the steep main street in the beautiful old part of Riomaggiore just a few minutes walk from the train station.
It is spotlessly clean and has excellent WiFi (just scan the QR code on the modem and it sets up automatically, at least it did on my tablet).
The owners met us on our arrival and were extremely helpful with lots of info on all of the Cinqueterre not just Riomaggiore. We won't be looking for anywhere else when we return to the beautiful Cinqueterre.

“Beautiful apartment, wonderful stay”
Reviewed May 8, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

A friend and I split Ca da Derna during a recent 3 day trip to Riomaggiore. Renting was easy and the manager was there to meet us when we got off the train. He was very friendly and despite limited English was able to provide us will all the necessary information and some tips for our stay. The apartment is at the top of the hill in the village so quite the hike with all of our belongings but therefore very quiet and away from the hubbub of the shops and restaurants. Well furnished, big comfortable beds with nice linens, nice bathroom with a good stock of towels, kitchen well-equipped with everything you need to cook for yourself. Wifi was excellent. No outdoor space but we got nice afternoon sun through the windows.
