We stayed three nights and found the accommodations to be fine. We stayed in the room with the patio, which was a huge advantage. We ate our breakfast on the patio and also two nights we bought wine, cheese, etc and had our own al fresco dinner on the patio. Room was kept clean and Gianni was very friendly and helpful.
Two pieces of advice. Hot water is provided by a tank in the bathroom...probably only 20 gallons or so. Make sure the first person doesn't use up all the hot water, or the second person may have the hot water stop midway through their shower and finish with a cold shower.
Second...when we corresponded they always told us to call when we got there. I decided not to pay for international service for my I-phone, so didn't have a phone. I had printed the location map from google maps, so had a good idea where it was located. However, there was NO way we would have found it, as there is no sign or anything on the side of the building. Moreover, it's a group of rooms in a small apartment building, so when you look at the names on the outside of the building, there is nothing about a rental room. Be sure you know the address...643 VT Signorini. Gianni answers to the name Ratti on the directory.
We were fortunate, there was a lady working in an adjacent building who I was able to ask and she gave us the scoop.
There was no Wi-Fi and it was pretty inconvenient in the town.
In spite of the cautions, it was a fine experience and we would recommend it. When you stay in the Cinque Terre you're not going to get the experience of a fancy hotel and if you know that, you will enjoy it.
