We stayed for two nights here and loved every minute of it. We had not booked and Edi was very helpful, the apartment was one of a few on offer and was very comfortable. Lots of steep flight of stairs and winding tunnels throughout this really cute little fishing village. It was a bit of a trek getting to the apartment from the railway station, but when we walked out from the tunnel our jaws dropped! the view was amazing! Our 3 bedroom apartment was on the edge of the Riomaggiore marina, you could hear the ocean from the room.. it's very clean and the queen beds were comfortable. For 150 euro for 5 adults it was one of the best value places we stayed at and I wished we could have stayed for longer. The Restaurant on the marina was very good and a good breakfast was available in the main street in a small coffee shop. Recommend a day ticket on the ferry to visit the other towns along the coast.

Room Tip: Don't judge a book by its cover!

This apartment exceeded our expectations. We stayed for one night in room 4, which is at the top of a steep flight of stairs on the edge of the Riomaggiore marina. I admit that it was a tiring trek getting our luggage up the steep slope from the railway station, but the quality of the apartment made up for it all. You can hear the ocean from the room.. it's very clean and the queen bed is ultra comfortable. The owner let us leave our luggage in their office until 6pm that night, which allowed us to go hiking for the day before returning home. For 90 euro it was one of the best value places we stayed at and I wished we could have stayed for longer.

We stayed here in Mid-May, 2011 in La Marina apartment, which is on the 4th floor. We didn't mind the stairs as we came to experience old Italy which includes no elevators and narrow stairs. Very nice place with lots of space if you have a family. Updated bathroom and great view of the ocean and marina. The 2 restaurants nearby had good food and nice sunset views. We did the Italian thing and hand washed some laundry and hung it out on the line by the deck to dry overnight. Edi was great to work with and answered all my emails and questions patiently. We chose Riomaggiore over the more famous Vernazza (thanks to Rick Steves) because we didn't want over-run "touristy" towns and wanted more authenic Italy flavors. If we hadn't stayed in Riomaggiore, we would have chosen Manarola. Great National Park walking trail from Riomaggiore to Manarola and very romantic. Felt very safe even at night.

Room Tip: Book in advance.

This studio is located in the old town up a steep flight of steps and within the apartment block up another 3 flights of very steep stairs. It is one large room with a small kitchenette, table and chairs and a double bed and there is a very small bathroom.
Its very basic and very old fashioned but for us it served as a cheap base from which to walk the Cinque Terre. We paid €70 a night. I would not have wanted to pay any more.
The apartment owners offer parking in their garage at €10 a day. If you park in the main towns carpark its €24 a day!
If you want somewhere cheap and cheerful then this place is ok.
