If you like fresh, homemade cakes for breakfast, this is the place for you. In fine weather, service is on an airy terrace, with fine views of the sea, 1000' below. Coffee is excellent, and plentiful, accompanied by the smiling faces of your hosts. Spare food may be packed into the poly bag provided. You have access to the impeccably cleaned rooms throughout the day, the village is near to the beautiful hillside trails, and the nearby takeaway, but sit-in restaurant, (not the one where you can get a discount), provides home-cooked Italian food, served by locals.

Franca, Andrea & Mattia all work hard to ensure your visit to the Cinque Terre is great. Franca makes yummy homemade pastries and fantastic cappuccino for breakfast. Mattia speaks good english and is very helpful. The rooms were very clean and the bathrooms are new and in perfect working condition. The new little restaurant in Volastra, arcobaleno is very good and modestly priced. If you come home later than the last bus, Mattia doesn't mind picking you up in Manarola with a little advance notice. We had no problem with their method of reservation: send a credit card number in parts to 2 different email addresses. Overall a very good value with warm Italian hospitality.

This B&B is in a smaller town of the Cinque Terre area.(Volastra) It is just above Manarola. There are buses from Manarola to take you here, but if you have a car rental you have parking available at the B&B. Driving here is hair pin turns but so beautiful.(if you are not the driver)haha. It is a steep climb down or up to hike, so beware of that. But the views are spectacular, the vineyards and lemon trees are plentiful.
Our hosts, Mataho and his parents were so welcoming. The assistance to discover the area was over the top. Mataho spoke perfect English and for a young man of 21yrs. Very Mature!!
Breakfasts were homemade, yummy lemon cake, chocolate cake, yoghurt, fresh breads, fruit and the best coffee. The breakfast room was private for us to use. At night we would use this to play cards or visit with our new friends from Australia. (hi to Megan and Michael)
They have 3 guest rooms. Each was large enough, and the beds were comfy, clean with perfect bathrooms.
The restaurant choice up in this village was limited. The town of Manarola had more choices. We ate each night in one of the villages and every meal was wonderful. Explore and discover this wonderful culinary area.
If ever we visit this area again. I will be sure to stay here at NiRia.

Wonderful stay. We stayed here for 2 nights in April 2013. We were greeted upon arrival, educated in english on trails, local restaurants and breakfast. We had a wonderful breakfast overlooking the sea then set out to hike some trails. We arrived by train from Pisa then took the bus from Manarola to Volestra. We had to check out early on our second day, but they served us a lovely breakfast before we left. The son then took us down to Manarola (before the bus service started) with his personal car to catch an early train. Such kind people! My only complaint was that even though the room was very clean, it smelled very musty. I would still stay again.

I can only say great things about this place. We arrived and were greeted by Matija who spoke perfect English. He showed us to our rooms and also provided us with loads of information about getting about and the 5 areas of Cinque Terre.
With all the information, we headed out the next morning and hiked from NiRia to the closest village, Manarola. This took about 40 minutes and was mainly downhill. But beware the hike back to Volastra where NiRia is, as it is a tough hike back. An alternative is to catch the bus.
Another brilliant factor of this place is the breakfast. Matija was not at home in the mornings but the parents were and they spoilt us for breakfast. They made us proper Italian coffee. They also baked a lemon cake and chocolate cake for breakfast as well as homemade focaccia, along with Cornflakes and plenty of bread, yoghurt and spreads. It was the most amazing breakfast and they would pack up leftovers so you can take them with you on your trek.
There were not many food options in Volastra during our stay so it might be best to eat in Manarola. We did try a little restaurant 100 metres away but although the food (particularly the specials) were good, we thought the price was a bit expensive and many items that were on the menu were not available.
A big thumbs up to Matija and his parents for making our stay at NiRia amazing. Thank you and when we visit Cinque Terre again, we will be definitely be staying here again.

We stayed from two nights at NiRia. It was the only place that had availability, and luckily it was very affordable! The room was clean and the people there were very nice. We got lost on our drive in and arrived at midnight... luckily someone was there to let us in when we called. The breakfast was very nice and served outside overlooking the sea. They also served us an afternoon coffee which was included in the room price!

The B&B is located between towns so it's a bit of a hike to get anywhere, but it also sits right on the main hiking trail which is very convenient. We rented a car and drove in, since the buses are not very reliable. Beware if you drive: come in from the south. The road to the north was damaged by a landslide a few years ago and is impassable.

We were very pleased we made a booking to stay at Niria B&B in Volastra, Cinque Terre. It was such a quiet welcoming place with lovely views as long as the mist didn't hit the sea!! It did when we were there. Both Andre and Franco, his wife, made us lovely breakfasts. We ate takeaway meals for dinner from a delightful fellow nearby and had several helpings of stuffed anchovies from his kitchen.
Niria B&B was very clean and comfortable and convenient to the bus stop, at the end of the bus route from Manarola.
A visit to Cinque Terre is almost compulsory if you are in Northern Italy.
