This place was terrific! We stayed in the top unit which is also the best unit with the biggest patio....the car parking space was right above us on the roof of the unit. Other family members in our group stayed in 3 other nicely appointed units. The host was very gracious gentleman. The rooms were top notch, with great linens and towels, room safe, mini-fridge, coffee maker, clean, with great colors/decor/fixtures. Water pressure was very low on the shower. Highly recommend getting rooms with the patios. We were not charged for parking or for the upgrades on the rooms...maybe due to being low-season. Noise was never an issue. Hot breakfast easy to find down the main street of town. The town laundromat was closed during our mid-February stay. The coastal hike was partially closed, but we still were able to do 4 hours of hiking and it was outstanding...bring good shoes. Weather in mid-February was nice for us. We stayed 2 nights which was enough time for us. Wi-Fi has weak signal but is doable if you are willing to leave your unit and hang out near the source. Would absolutely recommend this place!

Room Tip: Note, novice international travelers in our group went to La Spezia via train and mistakenly got on...

My friend & I stayed here for 4 days in mid October. After much research we decided on Locanda Ca da Iride: it was exactly, if not more, what we hoped it would be. The website pictures are true to life (actually it's even better in person!) We had the room just below the very top (larger) one. It was truly lovely, adorned with a long balcony/terrace that was our own private piece of heaven. We sat with our coffee at our terrace's table every morning while soaking in the breathtaking & unobstructed view of the town opening up onto the sea. Our bright airy room (albeit on the small side, but ideally suited to our travel needs) was spotlessly clean, and simplistically yet tastefully decorated. The interior seemed brand new while conserving a touch of old world charm. There are just the right amount of amenities: -a coffee maker (which thankfully the helpful ageing owner shows you how to use) -coffee inserts, -daily selection of pre-wrapped italian-made cookies & croissants (which are surprisingly scrumptious), -jams, nutella, butter, -along with orange juice & milk in the small fridge. There was also a small yet very well-functioning tv on the wall, perfectly placed across from the comfy bed(s). The washroom (with a bidet) was well appointed with brand-new modern appeal and the shower had good water pressure.

We knew it was on a steep hill & were thus prepared for the workout. And don't be fooled: it's indeed a bit of a workout, especially when carrying luggage (and my friend & I are in good shape!) But the quaint 10 minute walk up from the train station, then up the many steps to the room(s) are well worth the effort as you are rewarded with a stellar view! It's all part of the charm, but of course not recommended for anyone with walking or mobility issues.

Through the friendly owner's broken english (who lives on the premises) & my friend's beginner level italian, we were ensured that all our needs were met. We had everything to make our stay comfortable, enjoyable, serene, and *beautiful*! Keep in mind: free Wi-fi only works by going down a few stairs into a courtyard-type area. I didn't mind as I was intent on being "off the grid" during my stay. My friend however was thankful for the wi-fi.

This is an ideal location with perfect accommodations, and my favourite town of Cinque Terre in which to stay. We visited all of them (except Corniglia) and found Riomaggiore to be a bit less crowded than the other (equally charming) sea-cliff towns. It was truly our home for 4 memorable days. I highly recommend staying here. Be sure to reserve well in advance during high season as to not miss out on this gem!

*If it's all booked up here, La Scogliera is also a great place to stay in Riomaggiore (our friends stayed there in a room built into the cliff directly over-seeing the water)*

Room Tip: Try to reserve 1 of the 2 sea view rooms: I believe the 2 lower rooms may not be ideally located for...

Beautiful brand new room with nice size terrace with some water view. If you arrive by train in Riomagiore, be prepared to haul your bags up a steep heel for about 10 minutes. Once in the hotel, steep steps awaits you.

The room was new and very clean. The property owner, an old gentleman, despite of speaking very little English was very nice and welcoming. He showed us the room and how the expresso machine worked. We asked for a wine opener he also brought two wine glasses for us. Breakfast is in the room with basic things like packaged coffee for expresso, tea, package of croissants and some crackers.

Very nice place to stay. I recommend it.

Room Tip: Pay a little more and stay at the upper level rooms with a great balcony and view of the ocean.

Great value, although there is a rather steep walk to get there (and this is coming from someone who is young and relatively fit). Not sure if all the rooms have balconies, but definitely recommend getting one with a balcony as it's a fabulous place to relax at the end of the day with a glass or two of Italian wine.

Can only get wifi out on the balcony, which can be a tad annoying but also refreshing to be a little more disconnected.

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony!

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights in May and really enjoyed it. We had the beautiful top floor room with a private terrace a great view of the hilltops and village houses and a sliver of the sea in the distance. Signore Ivano was a really lovely host. He speaks a little English and is an enthusiastic host. He advised us of some nice routes to hike. We enjoyed watching him tend his beautiful terrace gardens on the premises. There is a espresso machine in the room which we very much appreciated. The room was spotless and modern. Large private bathroom. My only wish was that there would have been wifi. It is a trek up the hill to the house and then some steep steps so pack light. It's worth it.

Room Tip: top floor private terrace worth the extra 10 euros

My husband and I stayed 3 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. We loved our room here. It was very nice and affordable. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was nice, and we loved our patio. We had a room on the lower level, and even though we had no view of the sea, we still enjoyed our private patio full of beautiful flowers. Ivano was as cute as he could be. He was so nice. He made reservations for us at Billy's restaurant in manarola, which was fabulous. One day we will hopefully return to riomaggiore and this B and B. I don't know of a more beautiful and romantic place in the world besides the cinque terre.

We stayed at this warm and inviting B&B for two nights and would have loved to stay longer. The owners were so nice. The room was spotless and well decorated (loved the sail on the ceiling), the bed was comfy, the bath was lovely and the location was fabulous. We had a little balcony and the view was beautiful. The town was adorable and friendly. We highly recommend this place!
