We loved this delightful BB just 100 steps from the train. If you view pics of Cinque Terre you will appreciate not having to pull luggage too far up a hill. We had a very nice room overlooking the main walking street. The bath was very large and it even had a window that opened into the courtyard. Restaurants dotted the street and some were just off the harbor with a lovely water view. Maddy is the owner and lives on site. She grew up in the NY area and went to Italy to visit family and met a man (her husband) and stayed right there. She is very helpful when planning via email and helping you onsite, We loved the relaxed and friendly stay at il Boma.
P.S. A Laundromat is a few doors away! Loved our stay!!!

Room Tip: Email Maddy and tell her your needs.

Acommodations modern & well maintained. Pastry basket kept filled. Excellent location.Wonderful view of Riomaggiore from bedroom window. Good access to ferry boats a good way to see the Cinque terre& trains linking the towns. as well as hiking trails. Il Boma is surrounded by shops & restaurants& there is a laundromat nextdoor & an internet cafe nearby. Riomaggiore provides a good base for visiting the other towns .The ferry trip to Porto Venere & Poets Bay is beautiful & well worth taking.

Room Tip: Room with queen bed & ensuite bath a good choice.

It was a wonderful feeling to walk into our room at il Bo Ma in Riomaggiore. After 4 days in Roma doing the ususal tourist stuff it was great to arrive in this beautiful, old world Italian village with its tight winding streets and houses climbing on top of each other to hug the rugged cliffs above the sparkling Mediteranian. My wife and I were amazed to find a big bed in a spacious room and a great bathroom that is better than most five star hotels. Our room had a balcony overlooking the street which we spent a bit of time on pretending to be locals, eating pizza and drinking coffee (from the rooms coffee machine) as the sun set on the Med. il Bo Ma is just a short walk up from the train station on the main street but the double glazed windows keep it quiet inside if you need to shut yourself away from the world. Maddy was so helpful with directions from Rome and the good comunication prior to leaving for the trip gave us confidence that we were expected and welcomed.Definately a highlight of our three weeks in Italy.

We spent 3 lovely nights in Riomaggio and our stay at Il Boma was great! Maddy provided lots of helpful info regarding the area, town, hiking trails, parking etc prior to our arrival and helped us with our bags from the parking area. We stayed in the blue room which was lovely, warm, very clean and comfortable. Our room was serviced during the week and the coffee machine was very handy. Yes the room is on the main street and it can get a little noisy occasionally (church bells, butcher downstairs, washing machine) but it we enjoyed feeling like locals especially sitting on the balcony with the awesome view and hearing the piano student have his lessons in the evenings. Would definitely recommend II Boma to anyone visiting.

A perfect accommodation. For a more than perfect local. This was one of the highlites of our time in Italy, and Boma added go that experience. When we return, and we will, this will be our choice, and hopefully yours. Gary and Jo-ell California.

My wife and I spent two nights at il Boma. It's a small B&B located above a butcher shop right in the center of town. If you have a lot of luggage the stairs can be a work out but don't let that keep you away. It's a great place to spend a couple days. We had the room with the balcony which overlooked the main drag. It was very enjoyable sitting out there during the day and late at night watching village life. The room was very clean and modern. The owner Maddy was very helpful. She went out of her way to assist us with train schedules. I would definetly return.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at Il Boma in Riomaggiore (the 5th town in Cinque Terre). We highly recommend Il Boma! Maddie (the owner) was very responsive on Email prior to our trip, and very helpful with hiking and other information once we were there. There are only 3 rooms and ours was perfect! Easily accessible from the train station. On 3rd floor so not too bad with heavy luggage. Comfortable bed, fine en suite bathroom, balcony overlooking the quaint little town. In room coffee/tea/espresso and croissants/yogurt/biscuits each morning. No English speaking TV but not an issue. The town was amazing! Currently the Lover's Walk (easy hike from town to town) is closed due to a rock slide last month. So we did the much more difficult but awesome hike from Riomaggiore to Manarola, and then from Manarola to Corniglia. 2nd segment took 2.5 hours. The hike up, over and down is challenging (especially up!) but well worth it! SO glad we did it! We then took the train to Vernazza (beautiful!) and Monterosso. We took the ferry boat from Monterosso back to Riomaggiore (highly recommend this as you can view all 5 towns from the sea). Maddy gave us some homemade Limoncello upon our departure. LOVED IL BOMA!

Room Tip: we stayed in the Blue Room which was excellent (didn't see the other two)
