My wife and I stayed two nights at Le Giare and wished we could have stayed longer. The was a spacious and clean with a balcony with beautiful view of the Cinque Terre countryside. The bathroom was clean and modern. Our favorite part of Le Giare was the breakfast in the morning, we had an assortment of foods that were brought right to our door in the morning, so we were able to eat on the balcony. The hosts were wonderful making us cappuccinos every morning.
We didn't mind the short walk down the street to the beach, they offer two free taxi rides a day but we never used/needed them because we preferred to walk. Le Giare was a perfect place to stay while visiting Cinque Terre.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Le Giare in a pretty setting and the 150+ steps to the town was a great workout. Loved the breakfasts on the patio and our room was pristine and perfect!

My husband and I recently stayed at Le Gaire for two nights. We were in the yellow room, which was plenty spacious. We had a great overall experience here.

The room was decent, very clean with great shower pressure. The location of the B & B was very quiet, private and pretty. We did not mind the stairs from town, as it always felt good to us after a big meal!

The service was what would bring us back- very nice, great breakfast with great cappuccinos, and a drive down to the train station from the staff themselves.

Darling place to stay and a great value!

We enjoyed our stay at Le Giare very much! Lorianna was very hospitable and caring. The breakfast was the best we had during our trip...cappuccinos were delicious as was the fresh fruit. And it was served in the garden terrace overlooking the lime trees. Some of the previous reviews had me concerend about the stairs but we didn't find them to be an issue at all. Both of us are fit, we only used the taxi to take us to and from the train station. But I could see the stairs being an issue for anyone that is a bit older or has any health issues. Monterosso was a great place to stay...has the best beach out of all the villages. And for the hike, the two most strenuous hikes are from Monterosso to Vernazza and then Vernazza to Cornigla...was glad to them at then beginning instead of the end!

Cinque Terre is wonderful. although Il Giare is not centrally located, Lorianna's and Federica's hospitality made up for this. The walk up to Il Giare is not bad at all if you are relatively fit and healthy, there are 160 steps to climb. The area is breath-taking, we hiked from Monterosso to Vernazza and explored the rest via rail system. Beaches are wonderful. The rooms are very clean and the shower fantastic after a long and arduous hike. Breakfast was wonderful too with a selection of fruit, freely baked pastries, yogurt and bread. Lorianna's capuchin is great. Thank you Lorianna and Federica, we had a great time and we look forward to enjoying your home-made Limoncello.

One of the nicest B&B's i have ever stayed in - Clean - Spacious.

Was a short stroll down the stairs to Monterosso - Was perfect for us as we had a car to park and parking was free. Used the FREE taxi provided to us a couple times to get back to the B&B after long days walking the 5Terre Hikes.

Highly recommended to couples looking for a quiet relaxing place. Sat out on the Cute patio 2 nights drinking and talking with other Guests!

LOVED our room. I think she added 2 more rooms since we booked the place. Frederica (the daughther of the cute old lady) now has 1 "cream" room, 1"black"room (super modern looking) and the old yellow and the red rooms. We had the cream room-best one I think. We had a day bed which my husband loved. We were the only one with the cute balcony that's ABOVE the breakfast patio (nice b/c no people would be right outside our window in the morning which would be the case if you booked yellow and red room).
Location is in new town of Monterosso-nice if you want the beach, newer restaurants and closer to train station. Hike: not bad at all, especially good if you want to walk off your fabulous dinner (or my 3 gelatos/day) in town and want great night views on your way up to home.Could always call the Speedy Taxi- the father/son run that business while the ladies run the B&B it looks like. NICE bathroom-very modern. No hair conditioner though. No internet or phone.
Breakfast was continental-no eggs or anything, but hey, it was well-appreciated given price of food in Europe and sometimes things weren't open for breakfast that early so it was nice to have breakfast and get going (she says breakfast at 8:30, but if you are out there, she'll serve you). Breakfast-not bad. Use the $ you saved to splurge on dinner!
Would recommend for: Younger partners (romantic, great views, cute little balcony).
Would not recommend for: elderly (hike up to the place might be a bit much), people who want the "old town" feel- the rooms are a bit more modern although still in a person's villa up the hill.

Room Tip: Get the white room-only one w/ balcony
