My husband and I have been trekking across Italy for our honeymoon and stayed at Il Parco for the Cinque Terre leg of the trip. Knowing we'd only be there for two nights and wrre planning to do the hike, I wanted somrthing that'd be very comfortable but not break the bank. Booking.com showed a really high ranking, pictures looked fantastic, and the price wad right so we went ahead and booked Il Parco.

A few things to note, all of which worked out perfectly for us!

1. Located in Monterosso, the first town. Great if you want to do the hike since this is the direction most hikers start at. No need to take a train or get to another town to start the hike.

2. Up the hill from the train station. If you have luggage it's pretty easy to get a taxi to take you up. They even covered the fare to get there to check in. After that it's a really easy walk down (5min) to the beach and a 10min walk back woth the hill. If you have trouble walking or can't do the hill, just grab a cab or have the hotel call one for you.

3. They have a pool! Ok, you may be asking why you need a pool when there's a great beach, but after our day of hiking that pool was a godsend. We could come back, relax and unwind in privacy.

4. Small. Just a small B&B so not many guests and no backpackers that we saw.

5. Service was fantastic. Breakfast was included with coffee of your choice (incl. Cappuccino, lattes, espressos, etc) as well as granola, eggs, breads, meat, and mimosa fixings.

The only downside is that the walls seemed to be very thin. Each time our neighbors came back we heard every movement of furniture and luggage as they got settled. This didn't last long though since guests were generally very quiet.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at B & B il Parco. Modern, impeccably clean rooms, outstanding service, wonderful breakfast, pool and stunning grounds with a lovely view of the mediterranean sea. All the rooms seemed to have a view of the sea. The B&B sits high on the hill a few hundred meters from the downtown area of Monterosso. It is a 10 to 20 minute walk to town depending on where you are going. The only possible downside is that the walk home is all uphill...but it feels good to get some exercise after a wonderful italian meal.

We were visiting with our kids, but with this quiet and serene setting I would also recommend it for a romantic getaway,

Room Tip: If you are traveling with kids and want to avoid the cost of two rooms, ask about their sofa that converts to bunk beds...a very efficient use of space!

The view outside our window was spectacular! The staff could not have done anything more to make our stay any nicer. From the delicious breakfast, customer service, room service and grounds to the great location. Private, yet close enough to all the action and transportation.
If you are hikers or lovers of the beach - there is a convenient set of stairs that will shortcut you to the beach. You will love B&B Il Parco.
They have a taxi service that is free for arrival and departure. The rates are very reasonable for any other cab service (Iviaggi del Gabbiano by Speedy Taxi 388-1189840).

Our trip began perfectly when a taxi was arranged to pick us up directly outside Monterosso train station. The family that run this B&B are so lovely and very efficient. Check-in was seamless and our room was perfect.. all rooms have an incredible view overlooking the Mediterranean. It is only a short but steep walk into town and very close to everything you need. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful grounds with pleasant rooms in an amazing B & B. Marta was pleasant and greeted us on arrival. Breakfast was served (and was delicious) each morning. The view was excellent and the grounds worth just sitting back and relaxing at but we had hiking to do, so first the hike into town. Not as far as it may seem utilizing the stairway shortcut (160 spread out steps) each way, usually 4 times a day. We only took a taxi with luggage upon arrival and departure, all other times on foot. On a departure note we were to leave before breakfast started by 1/2 hour and Marta suggested stay and eat we will open breakfast for you immediately and then called and had a taxi waiting for us as soon as we were finished. Thanks for the service.

Room Tip: The entire grounds are beautiful but there are not many rooms so book early.
