“Great B & B”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

Really lovely modern rooms, lovely pool with stunning views and great breakfast! The owners are very helpful and welcoming and looked after brilliantly on our stay there. The cocktail hour was fabulous, drinks and nibbles at the pool bar after a busy day trekking!
The only thing I would say is be prepared for a steep walk and lots of stairs on the way back from the town. It wouldn't have bothered me and my husband but our 6year old daughter found it a struggle at times. On the other hand there are lots of taxis on hand to take you back if you don't fancy the hike back up. It's a great location for the train station and links to the other towns in the The Cinque Terre. We drove but the owners also offer to pick you up from the train station if you're traveling via train, which is a great plus :) Overall a lovely stay and the old town is beautiful, lots of lovely restaurants and shops!

We drove to Monterosso from Florence!!! The drive is for the brave!! We were happy to arrive at Il Parco after the challenging drive (train was on strike)!! The property is charming and beautiful!! A true retreat in the town of Monterosso! The room was perfect with our private balcony. It was very clean. The two young ladies do a great job keeping the room clean. The views are great. As others have mentioned, the walk down and up is challenging. We opted for a taxi back to the property a few times-about 6 euros if I remember correctly. Marta, Itilo, and Marta's Mom are great hosts!! The breakfast is awesome! If you want wine, you can purchase it from the property or you can buy it in Monterosso. Definitely take the train to visit the other towns in Cinque Terre. The food in the village is good. Itilo can recommend restaurants for you. I was somewhat hesitant to stay at a B&B, but we found this one extremely relaxing!! If you drive, parking is provided at the property. They also did a nice job with our laundry. I would definitely recommend this property!

Room Tip: All of the rooms have a great view, some have balconies, some have very nice patios.

We are on a 3 month holiday and were looking for a holiday from the holiday. B&B Il Parco located in Monterosso in the Cinque Terra area Italy was absolutely perfect. We arrived from Venice (crowds) and also Zalsburg (snow!) mid way through our trip a bit worn out. Il Parco is situated way up the hill in Monterossa with Olive trees...tweeting birds...scampering lizards...and the most beautiful furnishings and modern decor you can imagine. It is a family run business with extremely professional and welcoming people who give you your privacy but at the same time are very welcoming. I even had a dip in the pool.

The breakfast is fabulous and includes fresh espresso and homemade treats. The walk down to Monterossa is challenging but the views and the serenity are absolutely worth it. If you get a bit tired after a long day out and dinner in the village you can always catch a taxi for €6 back up to your oasis.

We are in Sorrento at the moment and the Limoncilo is no way near as good as the gift Itilo and Martha gave us when we left. The home made Limoncilo was a family recipe and it was tested by friends from Italy and they said it was of high quality. Many thanks to Itilo, Martha ,mum and the 2 young ladies who cleaned our room. We shall return.

B&B Il Parco was our home while in the Cinque Terre. This hotel is not in town but nestled in the hills with a dramatic view of the town and sea below. Because of its slightly remote uphill location, they provide taxi service upon arrival and departure by train, so their guests do not have to lug suitcases up and down the many steps and hills.

Arriving by train, we were delighted to find a taxi at the train station ready to whisk us up the hill to our quiet location for the next three nights. We were asked to wait to check-in while the owner served cocktails to his existing guests. Tired from a very busy two days of travel, we weren’t thrilled having to wait fifteen minutes or so for him to serve cocktails … a little extra staff would have been nice. But, mesmerized by the view, the time passed quickly.

Finally, after paying upfront in cash for our stay, we were led to our room … clean, comfortable and well appointed with everything one expects from a good hotel room. The best feature, however, was our little patio with the sweeping view of the hills and sea.

The walk down hill to town was no problem, but the return was a bit of a struggle, not for those not used to exercise.

Refreshed from a good night’s sleep and hot morning shower, the clang of dishes and smells of breakfast lured us up to the hotel’s main terrace. A large buffet of breads, ham, cheese, cereal, eggs … just about anything one would want … was laid out for all. Any kind of coffee was delivered to your table, and that view was just glorious.

I would have been perfectly happy to sip coffee all day just staring down that hill, but the area is full of wonderful places to explore.

Extras ... In addition to breakfast, free Internet access was included with our stay. Evening cocktails on the terrace were available for purchase. They have recently put in a small pool that would be great for cooling off in the summer.

For those not wishing to be right in town, I would recommend this hotel; it is a very pleasant little oasis.

This B&B is in a fabulous location, if you can handle the walking up and down--but you will get this all over this area. They provided transportation to/from the train station and a great breakfast, which included eggs, homemade breakfast cakes, champagne and more than normal European breakfast. Breakfast was served with a look over the sea--great way to start your day. Our room had a balcony looking over the Ligurian Sea and was fantastic. The room was spotless and while not huge, nice sized for two people. The bathroom was small by American standards and the shower stall was a shower pod, and if you are a large person this might be difficult. There was a swimming pool, although we didn't use it. We loved the place and would definitely stay here again.

We spent the last 2 nights of our 6 nights in Monterosso at B&B Il Parco. Great decision it was. We had enough time in the CT to be able to spend our last couple days resting in this 5 star B&B. It was beautifully manicured, perfectly kept, wonderful warm and had spectacular views. Our "investment" was well worth the cost. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: If you want the best views go with Rooms 4, 6 or 8.

We can't wait to go back to Il Parco. Our room was very spacious, clean and had a great view of the water. Very relaxing sitting out on the private patio, drinking wine and listening to the waves. This was our last stay of our honeymoon and we wish we had spent more than 2 nights there. The breakfast was really nice with good food as well. We had about a 10 minute walk down a steep hill to the town, but that was probably the only negative. It was alittle difficult calling the cab company from the train station, but wasn't a big deal in hindsight. Restaurants in town are also really good.
