Hotel Porto Roca is perched on the cliff at the end of Monterosso with magnificent views of the sea, the sky and the rugged cliffs of the Cinque Terre. Designed to take advantage of the view from every room: reception, the guest rooms, the outdoor terrace, the bar and the restaurant this hotel fulfills the dream of a remote Mediterranean holiday. Exiting from the hotel’s side gate, you join the “Five Lands” hiking trail through magnificent coast scenery and terraced olive groves and tiny wineries. A short walk down the hill towards the Old Town and you are at a little, private beach. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the rooms large and comfortable, most with a beautiful balcony overlooking the sea.

Room Tip: Choose a room with view of the sea - it's worth it.

Our stay at Port Roca was wonderful. The staff is excellent...welcoming, always attentive, patient and truly (I know this is a cliche) treat you like family. Our sea view junior suite was excellent, the bath facilities luxurious and the sunsets (or anytime of day) were beautiful. Great attention to details (laundry was back, coded and stacked in an afternoon. Again the staff makes this great hotel a wonderful and memorable experience.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are a must and well worth it.

This Hotel is clean friendly well run and had views to die for none of the photos do it justice we stayed in room 103 a Junior Suite with what seemed to be a double balcony. We would recommend it to anyone. Older style and decor of course but it has Soul!

Good seaview rooms. Excellent bed. Good service in the hotel. There is a transfer from railway station to the hotel – it is necessary to call them or to write the letter. Hotel silent – it is not audible that occurs in the city, the railway doesn't disturb. There are places on a beach. Minibar is not free. The Internet is free, works well.
There are no tea facilities in the rooms. Hot water and ice can be taken only in a bar. If they bring hot water or ice to your room – this service cost 5 Euros. The breakfast doesn't correspond to hotel 4*. The small choice of dishes, isn't present fish, a hot dish only one – fried eggs and bacon. For an hour before the breakfast termination many dishes already came to an end. Such breakfast is not more than 3*. At restaurant service was good, but food of average quality. Some dishes were good, and some not so. The hotel is located on the mountain – each time it is necessary to go up-down. The price too big – the main money you pay for a view of the sea!

We booked the small cottage room and really liked it even though it was small. Views were fantastic. The staff was really great and helped us with everything from dining to taxis to train travel. Will definitely come back!

Room Tip: The cottage is off by itself so you do not get any adjacent guest room noise.
