“Yum!”

One of my favourite spots in all the travelling we did of Italy. I adored the pear raviolli - it was so nice to get something a little different. Really friendly service. My boyfriend asked for something not on the menu and they had no problem creating it for him. Couldn't have done more for us. I'd go back to this town just to eat here again.

“The reviews were spot on!”

This was our last dining experience in the Cinque Terre . . . and the best I saw the reviews for the pear and cheese pasta so I gave it a try. It was one of the most delicious courses I have had in Italy. Lovely atmosphere outside and a delightful waiter. Be patient and enjoy the wine and ambiance.

“Fantastic fish & amazing pasta”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2013

My wife is vegetarian. I eat fish. This restaurant more than satisfied us both. The food was delicious (my wife said the pear ravioli was the one of the best pasta dishes she'd ever had, and having snaffled a bit off her plate, I'd agree). The dishes I tried (moules and then the mixed grilled fish) were also delicious.

The service was attentive and friendly, and they fussed over our 2 year old daughter like she was royalty. They didn't have a high chair, but we managed just fine with our portable booster seat.

We liked it so much we went back a few days later, and received a very similar experience, so it clearly wasn't a fluke.

The tables outside are shady, and it's on a quiet street so you can really relax and enjoy your meal. Highly recommended. If you're in Monterosso, do make an effort to go, you won't be disappointed.

“Excellent meal, great wine, fantastic service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2013

We had a lovely meal on our last night in Monterosso. Via Venti is a small, family-owned restaurant and you can feel it, as it has a no-frills atmosphere with a few tables in just one room, while still offering sophisticated food. You will not feel rushed here and the owner will take time talking to you and describing every dish with care. We shared a mixed antipasto which was interesting (some unusual stuff there) and delicious, and had a wonderfully tasty pasta al pesto afterwards. You'll feel when local sauce has been used because the pesto you find in supermarkets is salty, with little basil taste, while the local one is not pasteurised and less salty (obviously it will last less on your shelves as salt works as a preservative, but the flavour is much more delicious as you can taste every single basil leaf in there and it's to die for!). Wine was also very nice and it comes in lovely bottles. Would definitely go back.
