“Perfect B&B, highly recommend”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night in Sept and wish we booked more time. We stayed in the apartment, with sea views. Its a simple room, but it has everything you need and was very clean. The service was very friendly and the breakfast was amazing out on the patio with beautiful views. I highly recommend and hope to go back someday!

Room Tip: Book the apartment for sea views

My husband and I are here for five nights now. The room ( across the way from reception room at 36 ) is large with a small balcony, but great view of the sea. Good air con and very clean. Breakfast is cereal and muesli, cold meats and cheese and a basket of breads. For 120 euros a night it is good value. A very hard but not too long walk up from the station , easier if you don't have luggage! We have walked the five towns over two days. The nicest was the two and a half hour walk from Manarola to Corniglia via the track through the vineyards as the coast path is still closed for repair. Loved swimming off the rocks in Corniglia. We also went to S Margarita and Porto Fino by train today and plan to do a day in Pisa tomorrow. Da Baranin is just before Tratoria Billy which has magnificent seafood . Overall a nice village and base for the Ligurian coast.

I've been several times now in this beautilful, welcoming B&B and every time I feel like coming back home. Manarola of course is an incredible place but it wouldn't be the same without the warm, friendly attitude of the two girls who owns this place. The rooms are nice and very well equipped, the breakfast is genuine and rich, with a good variety of things, but the unique asset is the quiet terrace where the breakfast is arranged. Beautiful view, fresh breeeze, in the quiet mornings it's even possible to hear the small river running nearby... this B&B is one of a kind and I would definitelty reccommend it, also because the value for money is excellent.

We loved Manarola and Cinque Terre! We traveled with 2 adults and 2 children (9 and 11) and had great difficulty finding a quad room that could accomodate all of us. The B and B is a very steep climb up from the train station, but all of Cinque Terre is quite hilly and that was to be expected. The room was large and comfortable. The view was stunning - of the town, the vineyards, and the ocean, but the balcony was quite tiny. Two people could barely fit. Breakfast was served on a nice terrace overlooking the vineyards. The boys loved it, but it was mostly croissants and breads. Although we liked the B and B, we felt it was extremely expensive and would try to find somewhere less pricey next time.

We stayed here during the last leg of our Italian honeymoon. We spent the extra money for the Superior Room with balcony, and it was well worth it. The view from our small terrace was beautiful, the room was HUGE, had air conditioning, and the bed was very comfy. Also, quite close to Trattoria da Billy which is by far the best food we had during our entire stay in Italy. Make a reservation if you want to table with a view. Yes it is a steep uphill walk from the train station, but totally doable. If you're not a fan of walking up hills and steps, then perhaps the Cinque Terre is not the place for you. If you're up for it, it was a place that will take your breath away. Manarola is beautiful (in my opinion the lovliest of all the Cinque Terre). We did the entire hike from Manarola to Monterosso......challenging, but the views are worth it. One of the best days of our trip....and our reward was dinner at Trattoria da Billy's. (Yes we ate there both our nights in Cinque Terre...it was THAT good).

If you're heading to Cinque Terre and staying in Manarola, don't feel nervous about staying here. (Provided the right room, I can't comment on other rooms). Enjoy!!!

It is located at the top of the town, so getting there from the train station involves walking up a fairly steep hill, but that is Manarola. Once there, the view is magnificent! My room had a small balcony, but even just lying in bed I could see the town & the sea. The room itself was perfectly clean & charming, with 2 single beds, a small fridge, a safe & a lovely bathroom. Free wi-fi was available round-the-clock in the main building. The continental breakfast was generous & served on a lovely terrace. All the staff was extremely friendly & helpful, I highly recommend Da Baranin.

My family drove into Manarola and parked at the top of the hill. The B&B provided great directions for arriving by car, but we would not recommend arriving at night We did not have the "issues" that a few other reviewers had in hauling luggage up the hill. Regardless, you should know when you visit the Cinque Terre that there will be climbing involved regardless of where you sleep. Beign higher up certainly provides the best views!

The room was modest. We had a double bed and 2 single beds so there wasn't much more room left. It was clean although it looked more like a college dorm room with a pretty rose on the wall. It was located close to Billy's which was a very good restaurant. The B&B breakfast was good but nothing special.

To sum up, we did not go to Manarola for the room but for the beautiful town and views. The room did not detract from our experience and met our needs. In other words, it was average which was fine in this instance.
