This was a great spot for a few days of relaxation. The room was superb with beautiful views across the sea. We even were given some easter eggs on arrival. The room has a small fridge and a balcony where you can enjoy a drink and take in the view. It is a 2 minute walk down to the main street and less than a 5 minute stroll to the train station. Barbara the owner was super friendly and helpful. We loved this place and highly recommend it.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Sapore di Sol which has a great balcony with a view over the sea. The room was spotlessly clean, with an incredibly comfortable bed and a fabulous modern bathroom.

Our room at Alla Porta Rossa was 'Sapore di Sol'. The view was amazing. Most hotels in Italy are tiny, and this was no exception. The room was well equipped with a small fridge, coffee-making facilities, tiny easter eggs and suprisingly good toiletries. The bed was super comfortable and we slept well. The room was spotlessly clean and made up each day.

Manarola is (in my opinion) the best of the five villages to stay in. It has excellent food and has retained its charm. It's the start of the Via del Amore walk. The path to Corniglia was closed when we went, so we caught the train instead.

I'd stay here again, definitely.

We stayed in the Creme Caramel for 5 nights which gave us ample time to walk the trails, visit the towns and have a fair share of relaxing. Sitting on the deck with a good local wine and watching the sun go down over the Mediterranean is about as good as it gets. The room was large enough for the two of us and seemed to have all we required. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back one day.

Our tiny room was shockingly small when we first arrived. My wife and I had been to Italy several times before, so we know that European hotels can be small and short on amenities. However, there was barely enough room for us and the bed in this room! The bathroom was tiny as well, with no room for anything except the basics. The view was splendid though and thank goodness for the air conditioning. It was noisy at night, with loud Italian pop music from one of the upstairs rooms and trains rolling by at the near by station, so we used our ear plugs. The manager Barbara was very friendly. No breakfast was provided. The location was nice - just come expecting to climb alot of stairs.

We stayed in the Blu Mare apartment for 3 nights and we LOVED it! The deck was amazing and the sunsets were out of this world. It is a few doors up from Billy's Trattoria (highly recommended) and can get a little noisy at nights but only till about 11pm then everything quietens down so it did not bother us. Lovely warm welcome by Barbara's Dad and an early check-in was graciously allowed (which we really appreciated). We were happy to make our own toast with delicious lemon marmalade bought at the local deli in Manarola Town for breakfasts and enjoy the beautiful vista so did not worry about lack of breakfast facilities. Don't stay here if you have trouble with stairs as it is a hefty climb even for relatively fit people. It was well worth it for us as the climb helped to keep our weight in control as Manarola has some fantastic restaurants to enjoy. We would return in a second :)
