Studio Lucio could have been a positive experience for us, but there were simply too many negatives to overcome. It appeared this little studio has been neglected from a housekeeping perspective, including crumbs on the serving platter and a dirty tablecloth on the kitchen table. The lighting is from harsh florescent bulbs, there is no stovetop (noted in the description), which mandates a trip to town for the simplest hot meal or cup of coffee. The bathroom sliding door track was falling off and the apartment was very sparsely provisioned. It just seemed shabby. Finally, there was no hot water on our departure date. Calls and emails to the management were unanswered. The pluses include a wonderful view and a great location. I can understand the challenges of maintaining a place to stay in Cinque Terre, especially with such a high volume of tourists, but in this case, the basics were barely met. This place is in need of a little TLC.
This was a nice base to explore the Cinque Terre. Staff at Arbaspaa was very friendly and helpful (Giulia and Christina). Situated up a quaint cobblestone street overlooking the Manarola Harbor the views from the studio were delightful. Several nice restaurants in Manarola to choose from and the train and boats made it easy to travel to the other towns.
Really nicely done small apartment in a beautiful spot. Great views from the balcony over the village and bay. Clean and with fittings in good condition. Helpful staff for booking in, and my late arrival wasn't a problem. Ideal for one or two people wanting a short break, and I'd happily use this apartment and company again.
So, why not five stars? It's simply down to the lack of equipment in the kitchen. Yes, there's a good fridge, kettle, sandwich toaster and mini oven, but the other utensils are minimum and seem randomly selected. A small spend on behalf of the owners would easily see to this and make it a definite five stars.
Host was very nice, the room was clean, roomy, with a large bathroom and shower, and suited our purposes very well. The view from the balcony was great. We would rent this unit again.
Apartment was quite comfortable with good bathroom and basic living room. Kitchen would benefit from a hot plate and more kitchenware. Bedroom and balcony had fantastic views. As with everywhere in town, you need to be able to climb stairs!
Very nice little apartment with a wonderful view of Manarola and the coastline. Highly recommended -- affordable and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
The apartment was perfect, location and facility, the view from the balcony is magnificent, expect some climbing to reach the location, and no stove.
