Two weeks ago, we spent our vacation at Corniglia in the B&B "Il Gatto".

When we arrived, the owner, Mr Antonio was awaiting us. He kindly explained us everything about the apartment and the places to visit. The apartment was nice and clean and very comfortable.

Antonio is a very kind person. He offered us some fresh pesto made by his wife and lemons from his tree in the garden.

We immediately felt the Italian conviviality.

Corniglia is a very beautiful town and to us, the most cosy town of the "Cinque Terre".
The nice place at the old church, the extreme beautiful view from the balcony on the vineyards and the sea, ... everything was stunning.

We are spending our vacation in Italy since more than 20 years now and never felt better at home than at Il Gatto.
We highly recommend Il Gatto to everyone who wishes to visit the Cinque Terre.
We are looking forward to return to Il Gatto in the near future.

Grazie Antonio & Roberta per la vostra gentilezza e ospitalità

Location was amazing, special place, Antonio and his son are very helpful and went out of their way, even when we were over 5 hours late with check in when we got lost. The apartment is very clean and comfortable and a good size with all amenities you would need for your stay there. Location was excellent with everything you need around you. All in all we were very happy and I would highly recommend. Excellent stay and thanks again.

This really is an amazing place to spend your time in Cinque Terre. Very quaint and quiet village, full of character. The views from 'Il Gatto' are stunning and very extensive - the morning sun streams into the kitchen over the mountain ridge behind Corniglia and from the direction of the village church. The facilities at the property are excellent, with beautiful, solid new windows and shutters and spacious, tiled rooms. It's bigger than it appears on the website. The owners are very kind and generous people, with a genuine regard for their guests. Highly recommended - wish we could go back next week!

I first found this gem in 2010 and just couldn't resist coming back for a second visit in 2013. Corniglia is the smallest and least commercial of the five Cinque Terre villages, and it's right in the middle, so an easy hike or train ride to the other four. And Corniglia has the cleanest and least-crowded swimming area. Il Gatto has the perfect location, in a pedestrian-only zone, just a one-minute walk to the main square, and right on the walkway to the water. From the balcony you look out onto a hillside of terraced vineyards sprinkled with lemon trees. In the evening, after the day-trippers go home, all you hear is the sound of the waves. Antonio is a gracious host. On both visits we arrived to find the apartment immaculately clean and a special gift on the kitchen table to welcome us. Looking forward to planning visit number three!

A lovely spot in Corniglia to enjoy the sunsets over the sea in one direction and a view of the village in the other. B&B Vacanze il Gatto is not actually a B&B. It is a 2 bedroom self catering apartment, no breakfast or any service during your stay included. One night a weary traveller rang the doorbell asking if we had any rooms for the night, so the sign on the door is a bit confusing. Make sure you confirm with the owner about the time and place to meet. I had given him the times we would arrive by train, either 11am or 12, but he didn't meet us at the bus which brings you up from the station (€2 per person). We found the apartment and knocked on the door, but no-one was there so we asked some local men and they directed us to the cafe where he was. After that he showed us (2 girls) to the apartment but did not offer to help us with our suitcases, so we trundled along behind him down all the steps. The balcony is off the main bedroom, not the living rooom, so may be a bit inconvenient for sharers. The living room has another bed but is really just a wide hallway between the bedrooms, not a cosy living area to relax and no TV. You can get wifi at the local cafes if you really need to keep in touch with the outside world. The kitchen has a large dining table for friends to enjoy a meal together. There's an ancient iron in the kitchen, but don't use it .. I did and blew the fuses! Otherwise there is everything you need in the kitchen and good local stores to buy food to cook. I found the lady in the general store near the bus stop to be the most friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed exploring Corniglia and the surrounding area. Corniglia is the quietest village as the boats don't stop there so not as many tourists during the day. We were there over a Saturday night and there was a rock band playing in the piazza close by and the music echoed around, it was quite loud until about midnight!
