As noted by Pilar D, Sandy M needs a rebuttal. The kind lady from Australia might prefer better an Olive Garden or a Denny's for a hearty meal. Will try to find some coupons for these fine establishments, perhaps for the Early Bird Special. Cheers.

Having lived in New York, Spain and now in Italy, we're no strangers to good dining experiences. We had been meaning to go to Agli Amici for the past two years because it had been purported to be one of the best. I am happy to say that that this is the single best restaurant in the Northeast Italy, or at least in the region of Veneto/Friuli Venezia Giulia. The attention to detail and to the customer was superb with a personalized accent, the wine list exceptional and the decor unobtrusive and elegant. But the food... that was sublime. I had not had such balance of flavors and textures, with esoteric but not eccentric ingredients, and cooked to perfection. It was expensive, thank you, to keep the wannabe's away. By the way they don't "push" a glass of champagne when you sit down at the table, but rather the best Prosecco of the region.

Our family of 4 visited in October for lunch based on reviews. Walked in and were pounced on by the owner and her assistant who quickly took our coats away and made us sit down in a waiting area. Before we knew it, there was champagne in front of us. We immediately knew what we were in for and wanted to make the great escape but felt trapped. We were given menus and unfortunately being allergic to crustaceans and mushrooms, found little on the menu that was suitable for me.
We had an entree and main meal only (which were tiny portions) and a bottle of wine.
We made an excuse to leave before dessert so asked for the bill. 240 euros later and having to sit in dead silence (because it's that kind of place), we walked out thinking how ripped off we were.
This was definitely not the place for us as. All we wanted was a good hearty home cooked meal.
The next day we had lunch at the Tre Sorelle (next door to Best Western La di Moret) and for 12 euros 50 each, had entree, main meal, a vegetable side dish, wine and coffee and it was all really good homey food.
If you like having to whisper when you go out for lunch and paying exorbitant prices, then by all means go ahead but it's definitely not recommended for a relaxed homely family meal.
