We stopped over in Udine and stayed there for one night. We chose the Stop and Sleep Udine since it is right across the street from the train station. It was very convenient for taking the train to Venice and leaving our car parked in the station's lot. This place is appropriately named. They know their function and do it well, pleasantly and efficiently. The room was very clean, spacious, comfortable, quiet and the shared bath rooms are right across the hall. At first we were a little apprehensive about the area, but we quickly got over it. You can't beat the price and we even got to use the tiny but efficient washing machine (no dryer, but there's a place to air dry your clothes). It's up on the top floor and there are many stairs to climb, but the owners helped to carry our bags up for us. We stayed there on a very hot summer night and the A/C had no problem keeping us cool. The owners also recommended a great restaurant in the old section of town that we could leisurely walk to 10-15 minutes away. Don't confuse this with a fancy countryside B&B with spectacular views, but know that you will be satisfied with your choice for a quick stop over. Yes, I would recommend it and would stay there again.

Room Tip: Our room faced the main street and yet it didn't matter. It too was quiet.

We had an excellent stay in Stop & Sleep (the railway station location)! The owners are very friendly and shared all their favorite places in Udine with us. The rooms are spacious and well designed - really luxury!

The furniture of the hotel and the decoration is excellent and relaxing. The rooms are very clean and spacious. There are rooms with private or shared bathrooms, all super clean.
They offer a fully equipped kitchen and everything you wish is on the self and in the refrigerator for a great breakfast. The location is very good if you move to and from Udine by train or bus, and it is just 10min walk from the city centre.
However, this is rather rooms in an apartment than a hotel, meaning that there is no reception desk to walk in, so you have to make a precise "appointment" with the owners first time you arrive and get the keys. Also, note that it is on the 4th floor of the building, with no elevator.

This place is obviously the realization of an artistic dream. Everything was perfect for our family of five. We loved the artwork, the furniture and especially the breakfast that the owner leaves for the guests in the kitchen. There was even an Italian percolator and coffee for the morning rite. The owner helped us park the car in this rougher end of town and then we climbed the 4 floors of stairs - not for anyone with knee problems. The climb is worth it. The bathrooms are shared although if there would be queue it is worth the wait for the tasteful room. Everyone eats in the same kitchen meaning one gets to chat with fellow travelers. The bedrooms are comfy with views of this small Italian city. The wi-fi was great.Although most people only stop and sleep one night it would be worth detouring for.

From the very beginning of our stay we felt like being home. We were impressed by the generosity and the overwhelming kindness of the owners. The room was clean, fresh smelling, tastefully decorated and furnished with design pieces of furniture. In this regard, the jewel in the crown was the double bed made of high-quality fiber rush and, it goes without saying, very comfortable. Immaculate clean shared bathroom and cosy and functional shared kitchen equipped with all what it takes for proper food storage (fridge+freezer available) and meal preparation and regularly restocked with bread and a wide selection of fresh juice, milk, and yoghurts. Located right in front of the train station, do not be daunted by the "far from pictoresque" facade of the building and surroundings. The place is within 10 minutes on foot from the beatiful city centre and, once indoors, the noise from the busy street underneath is barely audible and does not affect your sleep at all. The lack of an elevator is definitely not enough to offset the pluses of this superb and amazingly very good value for money Bed & Breakfast.
