The Hotel Friuli in Udine is located not far from the worth visiting town center which lies in 10 minutes walking distance. The hotel is suitable for a stopover towards Italy. Hotel guests can park free of charge their vehicle in the parking lot behind the hotel.
The hotel has 100 rooms of which those giving onto the parking lot are quiet. In front of the hotel passes a busy main road, Everything makes a bit an outdated appearance but in a nice way. The architectural style makes me believe that the hotel was built in the 1970ties. The rooms are large and clean. The equipment is rather old-fashioned, especially in the bathroom needs a renewal. The bed is comfortable. We liked less the fact that the bed was covered with a blanket and a bedspread, instead of the duvet with cover that is changed regularly. A duvet cover that washed after every visit conforms better to the hygienic standards of today, even in a 3-star hotel. The electrical installations are completely obsolete, but the Internet was fast and reliable.
The breakfast is measured on Italian standards offering an abundant selection. In the evening a 3-course menu is offered for € 20.-. The choice of entrees and main courses was good and the food served tasty. Drinks are available at fair prices.
The staff at the front desk spoke fluent German and English.
Judging by the good price / performance ratio, the delicious food and the free parking, this hotel is worth considering.

Stayed for a week. There is plenty of parking, the rooms are closed comfortable. I also enjoyed their breakfast and the restaurant for dinner. The hotel is near the City Center which convenient. It was a very enjoyable stay. Type is that get a room on the parking lot side of you are a light sleeper.

Dated building yet well kept on the inside. Well cleaned rooms and common areas which is always what I'm particular about.
Reception desk open 24/7 which is a must especially when checking in in the middle of the night - as we did. Udine is a great spot for sleepovers on your journey to/from Italy. Breakfast buffet available on the lwr ground floor. Expect continental breakfast. Overall - very good value for money. Approved & recommended :)

This nice little hotel in Udine, itself a small city under 100,000 residents went beyond my expectations. It's a 3-star but felt more like a 4-star to me. Maybe because I wasn't expecting much but it had a cozy little room. Even complimentary slippers were there. Overlooks the river and it's got a 2-sided entrance. One side for cars, the other straight into this jewel city. The breakfast was great considering it serves not only Italian customers but Central European ones too. All the possible food was there. Of course WiFi and the good old pound paper-weight key. Oh and very very clean. Gotta return and I will be next week!
