“Nice restaurant with fair prices”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

The pizza was great and 1/2l of wine for 4€ was a great plus.
The view at night is not really great as far as there are only houses and a street.

“Relaxed atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2013

Trieste is famous for its classical 19th century architecture but you won't find it at the neon-lit 1960's hangover which houses the Copacabana. We found it by chance looking for somwhere we could sit down and eat without a reservation - it's a couple of blocks behind the canal just down the road (as the street name suggests) from the Roman theatre. The atmosphere's relaxed and welcoming with a mainly youngish crowd that do typical Triestine well-behaved fun and the service is quick, efficient and friendly. With no pretensions this is the ultimate plug and play restaurant.

We only tried the pizzas and prices were reasonable stretching in the main from around 7 euros to 12 euros. Whilst the pizzas might not be the greatest in the world the bases were echt thin and crispy and everything got demolished quickly enough. Some of the toppings were slightly unusual - my Pizza Mista incorporated boiled egg and hot dog sausages along with what appeared to be a complete turn out of a typical Italian store cupboard but I obviously enjoyed it as I ordered it again on our second visit.

Like the previous reviewer I'd also probably put this between 3 and 4 stars but I ended up closer to 4 for its laid-back welcome. It's not a destination restaurant but if you're looking for somewhere where you can turn up unannounced and fill up at a reasonable price it's a good choice.

“Reasonable and Family Friendly (3 1/2)”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

We ate here twice during our recent stay and were generally satisfied. Prices are great (4 EUR 1/2 ltr wine!) Pizza's are average (it's not Naples) but fast and well-prepared. My 7yr old loved his (that's why we returned). The mozzeralla di buffala was a day or two old, but great on pizza. It has good hours and is open every day. Nice. I give it 3 1/3 as it was good (not very good but better than average). Our first visit was better than the second. Bu you get what you get. And it was still hot and fast.

“Good value and pleasant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

Another positive of this Restaurant is its 7 days a week opening. On a Sunday about 9pm during a dry interlude in an impressive thunderstorm we were looking for someplace to dine. Good enough Copacabana was open and busy. We sat outside and had a very pleasant meal.

For starters we took 2 different gnocchi dishes. Then grilled beef and breaded chicken breast with salad and a side dish, accompanied by refreshing beer. Afterwards we had Cake Charlotte and a berry tart for dessert, followed by a cappuccino and a café con latte. All this plus mineral waters came to €64, which we consider very good value.

The waiting staff were very friendly and brought the courses efficiently and promptly. It was relatively late when we left but there was no seeming rush from the staff.

“Average pizza- good pasta”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2012

Went there after a local recommendation- the service was ok although our two main meals were served with quite some time between each. Pizza was soggy in the middle, with too much oil. Marinara pasta was good.
