We booked late and as a result had limited choice of accommodation. It was quite expensive. However, after great difficulty parking the car, we checked in. The Receptionist was lovely and I hope she is well appreciated! Our apartment in a restored building was acceptable. It was only for a night so nothing to complain about.
It is literally right in the centre and only a few mintues walk to the sea front. Brilliant location. I would stay there again for the location alone.
Car park: Look for the ampitheatre and the one close to this being the most convenient. Also while you are there, keep your eye out for the Ice Cream parlour, (forgot the name) and the Pasta/Pizza place which if I remember is called "Copacabana" (?) Both sampled and can be recommended.
We took a tram ride,(1.50 euros) into the hills. So glad we did. Views amazing, it was tranquil and many walks and small villages to enjoy.
It was an hours journey to Trieste Airport, (approx 22km) for our Ryan Air flight home to Birmingham.More
