“More like a hostel.”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

It is not a 3 star hotel definitely. It is old, there is no air conditioning, and the rooms on the upper floors were very hot especially in the afternoon hours when we come back from the beach and want to rest. Breakfast wasn't bad but it was the same every day and there weren't many choices. The location is good, close to the beach and to the bus station, there are also some nice restaurants near by. Some of the staff were nice, especially the manager, but there was one rude girl that didn't speak English very well and I had to ask her for fresh towels two days in a row before she understood me. Also they didn't throw the garbage from our room for two days and when I asked her for somebody to do that she gave me a plastic bag and told me to throw the garbage myself. That's not a treatment you get in a 3 star hotel. We partied a lot at night so we didn't need much sleep, but if you want to get a good sleep, this is not the right place for you, it is loud almost all day and night. If I ever go back to Rimini, I would probably not choose this hotel again.

My mother in law and her friend went in June for 3 weeks. They decides to leave after 2 weeks. No way to get the money back for the week not spent in this horrible place. The Tour operator was Transhotel. They do not want to do something now. I contacted the director odf Telstar. We exchanged long e-mails. He lies and is unpolite. I do not have pictures of the hotel but a letter written with details of what the stay was and how the hotel is at your disposal if you wish.

Of course, not deserving of three stars. Room very old, fortunately everything is clean and cleaned often. At the same breakfast every day, but you can get something to eat. Location of the hotel very well, practically on the beach. Recommended for less demanding customers.

Room Tip: Recommended for less demanding customers.

With around 1300 hotels in Rimini, it's difficult to know which hotel to chose when browsing through various search engines. A group of me and five friends booked this hotel because of it's cost, paying around 10 euros a night with breakfast. We were lucky enough to be placed on the fifth floor of the hotel and had a balcony which partially overlooked the beachfront. Yes the hotel is very dated, but with a beach resort such as Rimini, quantity comes over quality. I am very happy with the price we paid, the breakfast wasn't great but adequete and it was far more comfortable than a hostel sharing with other people.

It shouldn't be listed as a three star hotel, but if you want somewhere cheap and close to the beach, then it's okay for a night or two. Your more likely to spend time out of the hotel than in it, with many attractions (the beach, San Marino, Ravenna and Riccione) all located nearby.

Room Tip: Ask for the fifth floor

We had stayed just one night, and left next morning, and we were off season. But overall was a good value for money: rooms were large, good bed, good bathroom. Staff was friendly enough.
On down side, furniture was very old, windows did not close very good, wall painting poor, could be cleaner (but clean enough). However while browsing Rimini, seems to be lots of similar hotels for price range that looks more modern, however could not find them over the net.

We stayed at this hotel in June 2011, for 2 nights and because we paid so little for it (B&B) it was ok, especially the coffee :) I really had no need of staff's halp since we knew our way around and we had all the meals outside the hotel (it was used only for a good night sleep since it pretty quiet and comfortable). Indeed, it is not a good 3 star hotel but it will suffice for a short, economic stay - indeed, you can find better but the prices ussually go up, so... The ones interested, do not be so disappointed, it's not so bad. You can park your car for free, it's 100 m of the sea - and a magnificent beach with the finest sand I have ever seen. Also, if you visit Rimini, go visit Catolicca's Aquarium, San Marino and Ravenna!

First of all, this is not a 3 star hotel; maybe 1 star? You soon realize the type of hotel it is as you climb upstairs to reception. Hotel staff is variable; some are helpful, some are quite the contrary. The whole place is very old and run down. Beds are ok and bedlinen clean but I was happy I took some disinfectant wipes for the bathroom with us. Talking about it, bathroom had several things broken like toilet paper and face towel holders; shower was good tough. The hotel is very noise inside; however,no problems with noise coming from the street. Breakfast is an experience that you wouldn't regret to miss... In sumary, there are so many hotels around that even its the excelent location would not justify staying ever again at Hotel Telstar.
