Went to Ravenna to check out the town and see the mosaics and stayed here on a recomendation out of a Rick Steves book and was not dissapointed.
You cannot drive into the city without heavy fines and steep parking fees so you have to park just outside the gates into the old town. Casa Masoli is only about 100 yards from Porta Serrata (north gate) and there is a parking area adjacent to the gate which costs only 1.50E per day and is free from 8pm to 8am and from what I could tell, is rarely checked as many of the cars had no tickets on the dash and no city permits. This is a huge plus when selecting a hotel in Ravenna.
The family run staff is great. I ran into Granny Masoli and she showed me her wedding pictures that had to be 50 or 60 years old (she was quite a looker back in her day I can assure you!!!) and she was just so proud to show me the pictures of the rest of her family. It was just a great moment. One of those times that are really meaningful during a trip when you seem to rush from one site, then to a museum and then to the next Duomo. Besides a great bj-rj that my wife gave me while we were hiking the Dolomites, it was one of the most special moments during a 4 week trip abroad.
The rooms are big by european standards with vaulted ceilings, nice furnishings, paintings and the bathrooms are nicely appointed as well. There is a nice private courtyard as well.
The crazy egg shaped mini fridge is a trip. I didn't even figure out what it was til my last day.
Ravenna is a special little town where locals out number tourist by at least10-1 and Casa Masoli is a special BB hotel.

Room Tip: All the rooms I saw looked very nice. If you like it really quiet, I would ask for a room looking ov...

Beautiful Bed & Breakfast in the center of Ravenna, walking distance from all cultural sights.
Rooms are all decorated different, with big bathrooms. Very good buffet breakfast. Have been here twice already and will return.

We stayed in the downstairs suite (2 adults, 2 teenagers), great central location - 5 minutes walk from major sites. The B&B has a 'faded grandeur' feel but is pleasantly quirky. The outside courtyard was fabulous for relaxing; really nice breakfast with fresh coffee, cereals, cheese/ham, fruit, cakes. Our room was really spacious & I'd stay again. Only drawback was we couldn't open the curtains fully as we were on the ground floor - so the room did feel a bit dark.

Ravenna is a gem of a city, and the Casa Masoli is a little gem of a place to stay. It's in a quiet street with a secure parking garage with helpful staff nearby. It's an easy few minutes walk to the centre and to all the wonderful churches, etc. The staff were helpful, the room was large and 'opulent', and the breakfasts good.

Great stay. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Ravenna was a welcome reprieve with stunning early Christian mosaics. We loved our stay here and Casa Masoli was right in the heart of it. Great character old house.

We were looking for an accomodation in Ravenna, discrete but charming city ex roman empire capital, we found this b&b which is really an experience to stay it's own!
If you are arriving with a car, you can leave it comfortably just next to the building, there is a paying parking garage 10Eur a day (you are in the ciy centre and there is no toll free parking around)
The excellent reception lady took us around in this ancient prestigius building and showed a couple of rooms with painted ceiling, very big, clean , charming, full of comfort and history at the same time, difficult to choose!
The place has free WIFI in room, like tv as well.
Breakfast is served in a room with candles, plenty of home-made cakes, sweets and salty amenities for a continental breakfast too. very nice athmosphere.
In this place I really felt like a prince !
I just regret I could not stay there an extra night!
very recommened!

I've been for just one night in Casa Masoli with my girlfriend and all I can say is...excellent!!! A big, romantic, clean, silent, really charming room with two windows opening on an internal court....a rich breakfast of home-made cakes and croissants, making you wish there is also lunch and dinner....really gentle and professional staff, speaking a very good English (and, as I've heard, a perfect French...).... a very central location in Ravenna, 5 minutes away on foot from the beautiful monuments of the city....what else could you ask?
If you want to visit Ravenna (and you should...) this is a perfect accomodation...
