This lovely local restaurant sits back from the busier street about half a block and has no sign that you can see from the intersection, but there was a sandwich board on the ground that advertised a nameless Osteria. When you walk up to the restaurant you will see the name visible through the window. Battibecchi means “fighting roosters.”
It was very cozy, full of locals, the waitress & owner were very friendly, and the food was very good indeed (if in doubt, we recommend the lasagne). Menu is only in Italian, but easy to figure out if you don’t speak the language. If you eat here, I believe you will enjoy the experience.
