What a great find Rubra was! A lovely clean apartment, located minutes away from everything we needed (supermarket, cafes, laundromat, etc.) and a short walk to the historic centre. We travelled by train and the street is a comfortable 15 minute walk from the station. Max is a real gem and very helpful.

I should have to do this long ago. I and my 2 little princesses visited Parma. It is my first time to travel with kids alone. Macro is very kind and very helpful. The place is cozy and nice. Nice kitchen too. The location is also VG. Supermarket is nearby and there is a delicious pizza take-away around the corner. Close to the city center and the railway station. Macro has a great friend who speaks good English as well as Spanish (sorry! I forgot his name!). He has arranged a day trip for us to visit the famous Parma Ham factory as well as the Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese factory where the guided tours are in English. Perfect!!

A lovely, simple place in a great location in Parma. The courtyard garden is gorgeous. It was like living in Parma with my own apartment and garden. Other houses overlooking the garden but that made it more like real family Italy. Max was very helpful. I'd definitely stay there again.

We stayed in the apartment on the top floor. Very nice, there was a fridge and hot plate and little oven and microwave. Supermarket very close so you could buy items and make your own breakfast or lunch. For dinner however definitely go to one of the restaurants to sample Parma cuisine.

Marco, the host and manager, was very friendly, conversant in English and other languages, and very helpful with recommendations for restaurants. He can even arrange or guide tours of local facilities such as a Parmesan cheese maker (family business) and Balsamic vinegar vineyard.

I have eaten pizza from all over the US, New York style, Chicago style, and St. Louis and the pizza at the restaurant Marco recommended, AL CORSARO, was probably the best I have had. You eat it with a knife and fork.

My wife and I stayed at B&B Rubra on our second to last night in Italy. This apartment (and the City) was a breath of fresh air after trekking through Venice, Florence, Pisa and Cinque Terre for the previous two weeks.

The apartment is easy to find and near (15 minute walk) the train station. We were greeted by Max, he was very nice, very helpful and spoke great english (important for us non-fluent guests). He had a map prepared and gave us a great overview of the City, and even made dinner reservations for us.

The apartment is modern, large, spotless, great balcony with a cute view. For traveling in August, the A/C was a welcome amenity. The price is spot-on, all in all, this place is perfect. I highly recommend it.

We stayed at BB Rubra as the second leg on our 3 week trip around Italy. It was fantastic, and we would not hesitate to stay here again if in Parma. The location is excellent, plenty of shops, cafes, bars, gelateria etc on your doorstep and you're only 5 minutes walk away from the historic centre of Parma. We had the ground floor apartment at the rear of the building which overlooked the garden, so it was very quiet despite the building being on a main street. The apartment was a very good size for the two of us and well-equipped. It was cleaned every day. Marco was truly helpful, pointing out good places to visit, rent bikes and eat. He also explained the parking in Parma to us as we had a car, which meant we spent less than we would have otherwise, as parking on the street is free nearby at certain times of day and overnight but not in the underground car park! He also helped us out with finding an internet cafe where we could print something out, actually coming out with us and walking us to the place. Great, great service, always on call and always happy to help out. I would recommend this establishment to anyone and would definitely stay again.

We stayed in apartment #3 at Rubra B&B for two nights during our month long trip in Italy. The apartment was very clean, quiet and comfortable and would also be suitable for a long term stay. It has a well equiped kitchen and balcony overlooking a garden which added to it's comfort. It is located near grocery stores...with great resturants and the city center within walking distance. Max was an outstanding host who really went out of his way to make our stay in Parma memorable.
