During our week in Parma my husband and I wanted a quiet walk away from crowds. I do not know if picnicking is allowed in the park or not, but we went there with a nice bottle of wine and assorted cheese, salami, and bread and made a lovely picnic for ourselves on one of the benches near the lake. There is nothing remarkable about the park, it is just a lovely place for a quiet walk to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet.

After a day tour in the town, we had visited this park for relaxing before our return to Garda lake.
A lot of green and it was good to relax before the long drive expected. Near the center of the town and very close to Toschi parking.
We did not found any flowers or any colorful place.
Excellent for jogging.
Do not try to find the toilets, they are closed permanently.

Spent an hour on a hot day walking in the shade of the trees in this park. Great for runners cyclists and kids. Safe too, like most of Parma. There are carp in the lake and we spotted over 50 turtles!!! Kids would love it here. Very close to city centre.

Just over the river from the center of town, a few hundred meters from the Duomo, you enter in the private gardens of Maria Luigia, former wife of Napoleon and Duchess of Parma.
The park is not spectacular but well kept, the trees are interesting and the long boulevard with the lakes at the end makes for a nice stroll.
At the entrance of the park looking on the right there is the nicest palace in Parma, home to the RIS department (the italian CSI) and former weekend palace for the nobles. Going around you can find a theatre (still operating), statues and plenty of little corners for relaxing.
The running path around is exactly a mile long, so perfect for runners, just outside the city center but calm and quiet.

For families, there are attractions inside such as a little train and you can rent strange bicycles for the kids.

Best season to visit: early fall when some trees turn into amazing colors.

Very pleasant park: few flowers but lots of trees and greenery.; plenty of benches and shade. Close to the town-centre and the river. I saw some tortoises loose in the grounds!
