How fortunate to find this gem on the Booking web-site. It is in an ancient aristocratic palace, the home of the Marchese dalla Rosa Prati and his family situated in the historic centre of Parma. The Marchese himself was there to welcome us on our arrival; the Palazzo consists of 7 or 8 suites, all furnished with antiques and themed colour schemes. Our room was exquisite and had a view of the Duomo. As it was January, we were really glad that the heating was so efficient. The bathroom was modern and spacious, there was a lift, always an advantage at our age, and flowering plants everywhere, even in winter. Breakfast was delivered to our room by the Tcafé also in the Palazzo, which served locally sourced and organic sandwiches, cakes and simple dishes. There is even the possibility of organising a wine-tasting in the cellars of the Palazzo, where the property's own wine and Parma ham lie maturing. Had we planned better, we might even have been able to take advantage of their box at the Opera. As it was, we queued for tickets and had a great night. We were also fortunate in finding Ristorante Parizzi, the best in Parma. All in all, a wonderful experience. We are determined to return to the city just to enjoy these two treasures again.

My wife and I stayed at Palazzo Dalla Rosa Prati for one night in Nov. 2012, mainly to attend a Series A soccer match, but we were pleasantly surprised at how wonderful a city Parma is and a wonderful hotel to stay. The owner Mr. Vittorio easily was one of the most friendly people that we met during our honeymoon, and he was able to secure soccer tickets for us and also a private driver and tour of parmesan cheese and parma ham factories. Plus, he also upgraded our room to a suite for free! Parma is not filled with tourists like Florence, but instead you can really feel the heart and soul of Italy!

It's hard being impartial with this place but I will try.

It was completely out of my budget, but the building, the staff, and the location, made me say, for the first time in my life: what the hell!

Location cannot be better right in the heart of cobble-stoned Parma. The place could not be cleaner and spacious. Rooms are tastefully decorated and the higher up you go, the lovelier the view.

I later regretted choosing a room in the top floor because there is no elevator and we had loads of luggage. Lower-level rooms are equally beautiful. The palazzo to me, is one if those buildings you think you saw in a movie.

Staff could not be more amicable, helpful and charming. There is a wee cafe by the entrance. Parking is around the corner.

This is where I'm staying next time I come to Parma.

Bonus: the ensuite laundry machine and ironing room was a true breath of fresh air!

My wife and I traveled to Parma for a vacation. We stayed at the fabulous Palazzo in the heart of Parma. The staff and management are top notch, led by Vittorio amd Mattia. This is a superb location. No car is needed to tour Parma, a small walking and biking city. We did drive to the Palazzo. Parking is provided nearby. The guest rooms on the third floor are super. Accessed by an elevator. They are all suites. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment located to the rear of the courtyard. It required a walk up the steps.

Dining is great in Parma. Let Vittorio and Mattia make the reservation. Guaranteed to get a good table and service.

Room Tip: If you want a view of the piazza, please specify.

Vittorio has done it right! He and his staff have created a little slice of heaven in Parma. We stayed in an apartment (3 adults, 2 children) here and felt right at home. From the moment we arrived to the moment we departed Vittorio and his staff spoiled us (carrying our luggage happily upstairs for us, cheerfully answering our questions, providing a lovely welcome treat) and treated us like one of the family. Breakfast was varied and fresh and the cappuccino was amazing (all coffee is made to order)! The location simply cannot be better as you are right in the middle of everything, yet it is quiet and peaceful in the hotel. We enjoyed our stay so much and it was worth the money we paid for the location. Make sure you sit outside in the church courtyard and just people watch. There is also a very talented accordionist who plays beautifully. Such a great city and atmosphere and a hotel to match!
