If you happen to be in Parma sightseeing and you want to eat delicious food at a reasonable price Pepen is the place. Just indulge in mouth watering fried rice "arancini" or delicious sandwiches with local ingredients (every day there is a "special"). Wash it down with a glass of sparkling white wine Malvasia... Devine!

so it's just a simple place, with some bar seating and mostly standing, but the artichoke and ricotta pastry-sandwiches are worth every cent and every effort! the regional delicacy of raw horse will thrill those who are adventurous!

Great no-frill place to experience the authentic Italian feeling of Parma. Locals flock in this little sandwich bar where for 6-7 euros you can enjoy not only the busy but laid back atmosphere, but also tasty paninis, in any combinations your heart desire, plus a small glass of wine.

The horse tartar is a big thing in Parma, and they make an excellent panini with spicy horse meat at Pepen, if you are into something enterily new. Their traditional spacaballe was not very impressive, but tasty nevertheless. Also, the fish paninis looked really great, people were ordering them like crazy, in all sorts of combinations of octopus or fresh salmon or tuna.

Definetely worth a stop for a quick but flavorsome bite.

There is nothing fastfoody about this place. Everything is local and from the region. This is probably the busiest place in parma.
My husband went crazy over the horse meat tartar. While i had the roast pork. Both amazing. Great snack which was so big we had to have a smaller dinner. We went back the next day for breakfast.
They have daily specials.
