“Very Good Great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2012

Went with a party of four..smallish hotel but great location and staff very helpful and friendly. We went for an extended weekend ..so we ate out all the time, and cant comment on the food, but because of its location there are so many good restaurants to choose from.

Well located hotel right in the centre of Parma, with shops, restaurants and sights all close by. Staff were friendly and helpful. We felt the decor and furnishings were a little tired, and breakfast could have been much better. There was no fresh fruit or cheeses etc, and lots of packaged items. Overall we found the hotel rather expensive for what was offered. We had better value (and much better breakfasts) in other nearby cities.

Located in the very center of the town, just next to all major attractions. The hotel is well run and pretty reasonably priced considering the location. My single room was a bit tiny though, more like a prison cell than a comfy hotel room - I would expect something a bit more roomy for the price. Evenings and early mornings were noisy because of the nearby night pub and trucks supplying grocery or whatever.

We were at the Torino Hotel in the last week of October to watch a Verdi opera in the Regino Theatre in Parma. When we arrived at the hotel, we were happliy suprised to see that the hotel was literally 20 steps away from the opera house. So when it says that this hotel has a great location, it is completely true (taking into consideration that the opera house is right in the middle of central Parma).

We were 3 people all together and stayed at the top floor in a quite spacious room (big enough to accomodate 3 of us very comfortably) and the balcony was amazing with a view of roof tops of Parma and a dome of a church. The bathroom was very clean and modern.

The staff was friendly as well. The only negative comment I can make would be about the small breakfast area, which we heard was under renovation any ways.

Room Tip: Room looking at the Dome.

This is not a place if you plan to enjoy hotel stay itself. But as a place to rest after a day of sightseeing, it's a perfect place. It is located at the heart of historical city center, room is modest but clean, free wifi, 24h reception, in short it offers all that is functionally required for comfortable trip.

We were in Parma for the Verdi Festival and stayed at the Hotel Torino because it is just a stone's throw away from the Teatro Regio. (As an aside, I cannot recommend Parma's opera highly enough. The quality of the opera was truly outstanding.)

What did we love about this hotel? The location was fabulous... 10, maybe 15 minute walk from the train station, not bad at all, and located right in the middle of town. Lots of restaurants nearby. Easy to get everywhere. Well-priced, I would say. Friendly staff, good coffee at breakfast. Room was clean; water was always hot. A computer in the lobby was available for checking email, train schedules, etc. A new breakfast room was being constructed during our stay, so you might find a more spacious lobby and/or bigger breakfast area than we did.

What did we not love? Our room faced the street, so we had noise from the bar just outside the hotel (fairly loud on Friday and Saturday; quieter on Sunday). If noise is an issue for you, request a non-street-facing room. Room was on the small side, but no smaller than one would expect in Europe. Apart from that, no complaints. Not luxurious, but certainly fit-for-purpose.

Room Tip: Street-facing rooms can be a bit noisy.

Every year in september we enjoy our holidays in south italy and usually our over night place is orvieto (between florence and rome). This year we have chosen parma as this place and we liked it very much. The Hotel, which is in the city center, in the old town is the ideal place to stay. It's just a few steps to the main square piazza garibaldi and the babtisterium. Also the main street with all the shops and restaurants is just around the corner.
The hotel is just perfect, the room was very comfortable and the personal was nice and helpfull.
We would chose this hotel again for our next trip to parma!!!
