I tried to visit the Regio Theatre on July 26 at 11:30 but it was “closed right now”. Summer hours are from June 16-August 31st, Monday-Friday from 10:30am-12pm and per the Tourist Office it will be closed from August 8-26th! I arrived at the appropriate time, but was turned away, without explanation. Otherwise, it’s open Tuesday-Saturday from 10:30-12 except during rehearsals (no rehearsals during the summer.) As is often the case with Italy, you simply can’t count on the “open hours” to actually be open, so have a back up plan!
The Tourist Office at Piazza Garibaldi has a very helpful list of “Museums and Monuments of Parma” which details all the open times, the entrance fee, if guided tours are available and also gives you the names of many sites you may not be aware of and several which are not featured on TA. I found the woman I spoke with to be very helpful and the information directed my visit to the correct times, even though the Regio Theatre was not open.
