Description: Restaurant "La Filoma" The March 20, 1848 Parma fought and hunted the Austro-Bourbon government of Charles II to allow for fair regency and not tyrannical. In 1898, in memory of these events, entitled The City Borgo della Macina, the site of the eponymous palace and paid the tax on grains, like Borgo XX Marzo. And here, from the early twenties of 1900, there is a tavern, now a restaurant, which has never changed the girl's name that brings: The Filoma. We see him in an ancient palace, rebuilt in the eighteenth century by the Counts Sacco, immersed time in Arcadian literary atmosphere of the times illuminated by gentle intelligence; It housed a theater and already presaged in place of refined entertainment. Then here in 1915 Augusto Cacciamani, with his wife Filomena and four children, he moved from Vicopo in Parma and took over an old inn that, unlike today, opened the inner side of the village. Since then Filomena become "Filoma" for the grandeur of its "big woman" in the kitchen and even why so, if the choir or chorus Verdi Theatre Royal, to have a dish of cappelletti late at night, they had to intonarle a serenade, they would be able to do better in the rhyme choruses! The place, the kingdom of boiled, the baked lasagna and tips, remains in the hands of Filomena, grabbing for the "throat" high and low society, until 1935 when the war broke out, gives the activity. The restaurant is managed by the Lords Faults until 1950 when it arrives Ravazzoni Sergio, who was the waiter of the great cook, who in his honor gives the local to the ancient glories of revelers, deserving the star Michelin, which was soon to come! Arriving in the atrium of the building under a street lamp that recalls the gas lanterns once there is the entrance of the restaurant, including eye presents the rich history of an environment, the smell of people who have stayed imprinted in brocade wall , the wooden floors, the ceilings, the antique mirrors. There are three dining rooms, one just entering yellow gold Mirror Hall, right Saletta of all green Shells and at the bottom left a small intimate Saletta all in Red brocade. On our way to Tuscany, we decided to stop by Parma for lunch. Our 1st choice restaurant was closed. While walking, we saw La Filoma. La Filoma did not disappoint. I must say that La Filoma pasta beat all pasta we had in Lake Como and Tuscany!

We booked La Filoma on our way back from our vacations on an over-night stop in Parma, and boy was that a good decision. The Filoma is a restaurant in the heart of Parma, pedestrian zone, in the ancient town. We were welcomed by a very friendly host, who let us chose were to sit. We picked a small room with a few tables and throughout the night, we stayed the only ones in this room (there are various rooms). The menu is smallish, but has a vide variety of dishes, heavy on meat. They had no problems creating two simpler dishes for our kids (pasta and gnocchi ragu) and we started with one of the best truffle risottos we ever ate, followed by a wonderful tagliata. They recommended a lovely Amarone to the food. The meal ended with wonderful deserts and a really good grappa. The host was super friendly, provided more information about the dishes and beverages, and we left super happy. The dinner involved two starters, four mains, several beverages, a bottle of wine (60€) plus four deserts and grappa and was around 200€. Don't miss this place if you have the joy to go to Parma.

Had a great meal at La Filoma. Chef is terrific. This is the place for pasta. The gnocchi was amazing. Great wine pairings suggested too. A delightful evening. I liked the setting as well.

This gem is not even a stone's throw from the Cathedral (Duomo) -- on Borgo XX Marzo, which comes off of the Piazza del Duomo at the baptistry (Battistero di Parma). Wonderful meal.

After touring Tuscany, my beau and I stumbled across one of our favorite restaurants...in Parma! Our waiter was husband to owner, Antonella Manotti. He was the most gracious, interesting and knowledgable man and made our romantic evening even more special! Given my parmesan and vino obsession, he recommended a beautiful bottle from their extensive list of local wines and continued to bring me big chunks of the region's mouthwatering formaggio! And yes, the most delectable parmesan cheese and dishes you could ever imagine! I cannot recommend the ambience, food and service enough. When in Parma, go to La Filoma!
