Description: Restaurant "La Filoma" The March 20, 1848 Parma fought and hunted the Austro-Bourbon government of Charles II to allow for fair regency and not tyrannical. In 1898, in memory of these events, entitled The City Borgo della Macina, the site of the eponymous palace and paid the tax on grains, like Borgo XX Marzo. And here, from the early twenties of 1900, there is a tavern, now a restaurant, which has never changed the girl's name that brings: The Filoma. We see him in an ancient palace, rebuilt in the eighteenth century by the Counts Sacco, immersed time in Arcadian literary atmosphere of the times illuminated by gentle intelligence; It housed a theater and already presaged in place of refined entertainment. Then here in 1915 Augusto Cacciamani, with his wife Filomena and four children, he moved from Vicopo in Parma and took over an old inn that, unlike today, opened the inner side of the village. We were recommended this restaurant by locals and it was an excellent choice. Dishes were exquisite and some of the best food we've had in Italy. We were treated well, and had a great romantic dinner we will not forget.

“Incredible evening”

My husband and I were met with the friendliest staff, we had our own private dining room at no extra cost, and an amazing meal! The Chef came out and waited on us personally, and had a hilarious sense of humor. The low price of our meal did not reflect of the grand atmosphere, and delicious meal. This is definitely a staple for any trip to Parma

“Traditional charm”

This was almost the closest restaurant to our hotel, and whilst the closest was rated higher on TA, it didn't appeal as much because it seemed quite busy, so we opted for La Filoma instead, and what a find!

We were greeted by the owner, we believe, who spent a good deal of time helping us with a wine choice and a special, locally brewed beer called Isaac. One of the best I've ever tasted. We chose a rolled veal in a wonderful red wine gravy with rosemary potatoes plus green salad and a pasta. All of them were exemplary, but he also gave us a small starter of small deep fried parmigiana balls with our drinks. As the evening progressed a few more tables (4 to each of the two rooms) filled up with French guests, and whilst his English is just OK his French is perfect. The wine list is extensive for local wines and he knows what he's talking about when he matches the wines to the meals. The dessert of a semi freddi and a plum digestif topped off a brilliant night out. When we got the bill, I was very surprised to see it so inexpensive. Well worth a visit, and would be one of the top choices if you only had one or two nights in Parma.

“amazing experience”

If you have the chance to visit Parma then you must not miss going to La Filoma. From the minute we entered this unique place we were transported back in time. This was exemplified not only by the decor but by the traditional, yet unpretentious service. So much care and attention to the food made every course an experience in itself. Alessandro, the owner, could not have done more for us to make the evening one that we will remember forever. I would come back to Emilia Romagna again just to go to this restaurant. If you are planning to visit Palma it would be foolish to miss this experience.

“Best meal of my life”

We came in the middle of the afternoon and the old man was nice enough to keep the restaurant open for us to enjoy one of the best meals of our lives. Incredible service, great atmosphere and perfect food. Tortelli alla parmiggianna and prosciutto plate - to die for.
Recommend highly.
