We were recommended cafe concerto by our hotel receptionist. The restaurant is located in a square overlooking a beautiful church. The restaurant was inviting and busy with families and couples chatting. To be honest we thought we may be a little undressed but it was fine.
Staff were friendly but not too intrusive and spoke perfect English.
Before we ordered we were given a glass of something sparkling and delicious, a selection of breads and some crudités, followed by a pillow of Parmesan.
The menu was full of local produce with a focus on balsamic and Parmesan. We had fried baby squid with balsamic and a Parmesan tart to start, both heavenly and then lamb wrapped in pork fat and roast suckling pig, the pig won the course but both were expertly cooked and tasted beautiful. We washed this down with a cent bottle of the local Lambrusco. We finished with hot chocolate cake and home made ice cream which again were very good. Total bill was €93 which we thought was exceptional value.
A local group started playing music around dessert which only added to the evening. A great experience, this will be an evening we remember for many years, thank you.
