We visited a couple of years ago now but forgot to post this, and hope its still helpful.
Travel by bus is easy and cheap. From behind hotel Estense in Modena ,Get bus tickets from office across from the park which is not easily seen. Allow half hour to queue. Tickets cost €5.60 for return from Marinello. Bus station at back of office. We got a bus at 13.00 (tuesday) and they leave every hour on the hour Look out for Ferrari factory gates and ring the bell for the bus to stop or you have to walk from the centre. Turn right and follow road to the museum and shops. You can pick up a drive in that area. Don't forget your driving license if you wish to drive a car.
The museum costs €13 each and is very interesting. Lots of photo opportunities and you can get close to the cars. All the Ferrari formula 1 trophies are on display along with video clips. Cars old and new are displayed and you can walk closely around them.
2 cans of coke were €6 in the cafe.
There are Ferrari merchandise shops around the area.
The bus stop for return is across the road next to the factory gates. We spotted several ferraris driving past and expensive cars dropping off clients.
The 800 bus leaves around half past every hour but isn't on time.

Ferrari cars are very cool and the museum housing the collection is a fun stop for car enthusiasts. But the so called Factory Tour is such a god awful waste of time. They put stickers on your cameras as if there are some secrets to be unveiled. After shuffling you onto a bus, they drive around the factory and talk about what goes on inside the buildings we can't see, in two languages, doubling the boredom!! There isn't any good reason to take this tour unless you thrive on the absurd and useless.

We went to Maranello to see the museum, but heard about the driving experience. My husband booked a 20 min/ 16 km tour in the new Ferrari 599. He did the city tour, as the race track is cost prohibitive. The driver had my husb drive out to the freeway, stop, then hit it. My husband came back with the biggest smile; And a story he's told 100 times since we've been back. Rentals start at €80 with the track starting at €450. Worth the investment if you're into cars.

The Ferrari museum is -for those who like these very beautiful cars, worth the visit. The bustour however is much less so. Infommative yes, but the drive takes you over the factory complex and you only see mainly factory walls. A video could easily (and maybe better) substitue the busride.

i came all the way for the factory tour and certainly am not disappointed. although you could have seen most things in the national geography show, but seeing them in person with your own eyes is just amazing. we have seen so many 458 Speciales rolling off the production lines which is so tempting (these factory tours are designed to sell you more cars!).

Unfortunately no photos are allowed within the factory area.

I noticed there is no Michael Schumacher street in the factory, so I asked our tour guide did they take his name off as he deflected to Merc. She answered no, because a street is not enough and they named a whole square after him!!!

The night before I have also caught a yellow LaFerrari on video right at the factory entrance, Carbuzz made it top story of its stite as it is apparently the first video footage in the world of the yellow LaFerrari, what a trip I had!

Highly recommended to all supercar lovers (and Ferrari owners).
