I stayed in Mua for a couple of nights in April, partaking in a conference.
I found it had a good location, near a streat with nice restaurants and bars, within walking distance to the central squares, and a busride away from the conference hall/fair.
The host could give good advice on restaurants and places to see.
The room was quiet, essential for a light sleeper like myself - I think though that the rooms closer to the kitchen might be hearing the breakfast being set up.

Room Tip: If a light sleeper ask for room away from kitchen

Mua was our first stop in Italy, and it set the tone for an amazing trip. The room was simple, modern, and very clean, breakfast was light, but tasty, and the staff was very friendly. It's also in a great location - close enough to walk everywhere in the beautiful city of Bologna, but far enough away from the action to have a quiet night's sleep.

We spent 3 days in Bologna to discover the city. Mua' was our base and an excellent address for different reasons. First the website shows exactly what you get once you are at the B&B. The reception was very personal, friendly and helpful. Although the B&B is not permanently staffed, it was no problem contacting the owner should there have been any question or problem. Mua' is very stylishly furnished in a modern design. Our room was well-sized, clean and comfortable. Since we had our room towards the little lane through which Mua' is accessed there was the odd car or moped at night producing some noise, but we expect the rooms towards the central court to be completely quiet. Breakfast was abundant and of high quality. With only a 10-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore Mua' was also very central and perfect for our needs. We got very good quality for our money, being aware that we could take advantage of a special rate in February. But even at the regular price you would get your money's worth. We would go there again any time.

For travellers from the UK, "bed and breakfast" doesn't begin to do Mua' justice. It's excellently located in central Bologna, has been cleverly renovated in a very modern, understated way (less is, after all, more) and the owner (we met Umberto) and the on-site manager (Geeta) couldn't have been more helpful or attentive. We had four very enjoyable December days celebrating our silver wedding (isn't it only old people that have silver weddings?) during Bologna's sub-arctic season and Mua proved a warm and cosy bolt-hole. Even if modernism isn't your thing, try it: highly recommended for a visit.

This is a unique bed and breakfast. It is new, clean, tidy and the owner is very helpful and extremely friendly. It is close to the town centre and is well situated to walk to the centre. The breakfast is delightful (great coffee) and very helpful staff. A great place to stay and very comfortable big beds!

My spouse and I spent five nights in Bologna on our Italian vacation and used it as a base for a couple of day trips. We booked Mua' based on recommendations from Trip Advisor, and can't say enough good things about the staff and the rooms. Uberto was kind and welcoming and gave marvelous restaurant tips; the two ladies helping with breakfast and housekeeping couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast was the best we had in all of Italy, including fresh-squeezed orange juice, wonderful pastries, and perfect cappuccino. (The coffee was from the nearby shop "Aroma.") The rooms are exactly as pictured on the web site: modern but not cold, spacious, spotless, with a nice, big bathroom. We travel light and didn't mind not having an elevator/lift to take us up to the second floor, but I noticed Uberto helping others with their luggage. The hotel's location was perfect for us: about 15-20 minutes' walk from the train station, less than 10 minutes to the historic city center, and 10 minutes to the excellent new MAMBO museum (modern art). The neighborhood seems to be occupied by 20-somethings who like to stay out late at the excellent nearby bars and restaurants and to hang out in the nearby piazza. We didn't mind the noise since it was just people talking, but you couldn't keep the windows open if you wanted to go to bed before 1 a.m. Not a problem since the room has excellent air conditioning. We like the "B&B" concept since we don't feel the need for an a restaurant or 24-hour staff on site. Mua' is a fine hotel and an excellent value for Bologna.
