This hotel is centrally located which is definitely a plus but I found the staff not terribly friendly and the bed was very uncomfortable. The air conditioning was definitely a plus as I was in Bologna during a September heat wave.

A twenty minute walk from Centrale train station. down the Via dell' Indipendenza, arcaded all the way. The arcades throughout the town are what makes Bologna unique for shopping !
Novecento is just a few steps away from the Piazza Maggiore, one of four Bologna Art Hotels all close to the centre. It has an unobtrusive elegance that is appropriate for a smart city hotel.
Eating out in Bologna is no problem. A good restaurant close by is the Trattoria Battibecco. It does great fish.

Just 2 blocks off Pizza Maggiore in the heart of Bologna, this is a wonderful place to stay. Our room was very modern and comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful, the breakfast has lots of choices, and well-placed sculptures make the hotel visually pleasing.

Stayed two nights in superior room. We arrived and temperature was 40 degrees and were worried about the air conditioning. Lucky for us it worked and we had two great nights sleeping in cool room while bologna sweltered. Room were great with large bathroom. Fast free Wifi and fantastic breakfast. Not the cheapest hotel but you get what you pay for and more

An amazing hotel set practically in the middle of Bologna. We took two rooms on the top floor, that were booked through our travel agent in Rome and can honestly say they were truly our favourite hotel rooms EVER.

We loved this Hotel and would love to return one day soon.

Room Tip: Top Floor, every time.

This was our second stay that the Art Hotel Novocento. It did not disappoint. The location is superb, just a short stroll away from Piazza Maggiore. It's surprising that this hotel can be so close to the pulsing heart of Bologna but still seem fairly quiet. Maybe that's because it's next to the Questore (which all you Donna Leon fans will recognize as the head of police investigation) in Bologna.

The rooms are somewhat variable in size, and although there's not a lot of room to move around, there's certainly enough storage space in each room. The front desk was quite helpful with recommendations. Breakfast is fairly typical for an Italian hotel: lots of fruit, OK yogurt, meat, and cheese, not much in the way of hot food. There is an afternoon aperitivo (prosecco or another drink) which was free the last time we came to the hotel several years ago, but now has a charge for alcohol. We didn't avail ourselves of this but it looked fine if somewhat underutilized (perhaps with all the choices nearby on or near Piazza Maggiore).

We would certainly stay here again

Room Tip: Choose the nearby outdoor parking if you have a car; just as convenient as the indoor parking and ju...

THe hotel is located in the city center in Bologna, a couple of minutes walking from the main attractions. The hotel is in a quite small square allowing rooms to be quite.
The staff has been nice and friendly in giving suggestions on good restaurants.
Breakfast is fine and boasts international food.
Rooms are big and with fantastic wooden celeing and a huge bathroom.

Room Tip: High floor rooms
